Happy Monday!

DIL is officially at 30 weeks now (as of this past Saturday) and we head out on Thursday to MI for the baby shower!  I can't wait to see them and celebrate little Oli!

I just wish the weather would warm up a little bit lol!

Happy Thursday!  The baby shower was a huge success!  Little Oli got so many nice things - they are now ready for him to arrive.  We had such a good time - C and I got the whole room organized, all the baby clothes washed and put away, the many, many books (you can really never have too many books lol!) on his book shelf.  Closet organizer put together, bins for drawers, so much fun stuff!  He's due in May and our plan is hopefully to go back sometime in June.  That will give B&C a few weeks to settle in and bond with him first.  It snowed a bit each morning - looked beautiful and would melt by mid afternoon.  I handled the cold weather quite well - although we didn't venture out much lol!  Now I'm just trying to get caught up on everything here at work.....ugh!

How FUN!!  So happy for all of you!

Happy Friday!  I've got my RED on.

17 days until the due date for our grandson!  I can hardly contain myself!  Doctor thinks he's already over 8 lbs and says if he continues growing at the rate he is they may have to schedule a c-section.  Of course this worries B&C a bit but I remind them that we just want to make sure she has a safe delivery.  Everything has been going so great in her pregnancy thus far and this is just sort of throwing a wrench in their plans.  I know everything will work out in the end. Prayers are appreciated.....

Thanks for the update B'sNukeMoM!  So excited for all of you!  Will be sending prayers and positive energy.  I'm looking forward to pictures!!  NMH's!

 I’ve been keeping up with your posts!  6 days until our sailor and wife’s baby boy is due!  We have 8 grand daughters and two great grand daughters so we super excited!  He also re-enlisted again and has been selected to the Ike!  They will be deploying later this year so my son is sad he will miss a lot of Cameron’s first year.  But it is what it is. Like I told him there are many in his shoes.   They are hoping the baby comes this weekend because my other son has a work conference in the area and will be in the area.  He and his wife are also expecting a baby boy in August!  Oh! And I forgot to mention Jacob nearly passed out during one of the birthing classes. Lol.  
   

I LOVE being a granny. How exciting for those with multiple grandchildren! My daughter (not Navy) has one daughter and I'm trying to wait patiently for another....Pictures of the new baby might tide me over :)

So happy for all of you with grandchildren and those on the way!  I am 61 years old and not sure I will be a biological grandma but plan to volunteer with children soon like a foster grandma!!

mariecb, what a wonderful idea... to be a foster grandma.  When my mom retired from teaching she read to children at the local library.  She had one granddaughter, but she was out of state and my mom just loved being around children.

Jacob94mom - 6 days - wow!!!!!  And the first boy - bet he'll be spoiled lol!  I'm just happy to be getting my first finally!  

mariecb - I'm 61 too and just now getting my first!  But I love the idea of volunteering with children - I've often thought I would love to be able to be one of the "baby rockers" at the hospital.  I might still consider that once I finally cut back on work....

Jacob94mom - any baby updates?

 No baby yet! She gave him his eviction notice but he’s not cooperating.  Her mother came on Sunday to be there when he makes his arrival (her first grand).   

mariecb - I will be 60 this year and my husband 67.  I was a grandma at 32! My sailor and oldest grand, are 18 months apart. My husband started young.  
  We became foster parents when my sailor joined the Navy. I didn’t like the empty nest. Lol my husband agreed to 5 years and 9 years later we are still at it.  We take newborn to age 5.  Cure have 3 siblings 4, 2, and 1.  They’ve been with us over two years now.   I love the little ones, but it’s always a rough day for us when they move on, since we are not planning to adopt.  But it’s not long before we get another.  It’s a bittersweet cycle.  But rewarding as well. 

Jacob94mom - well I guess the "hurry up and wait" continues lol! C had her appointment yesterday and they told her they are going to induce her early next week.  Just waiting for the hospital to tell them what day to show up...

That's so awesome that you foster - such a blessing that you are able to do that.

 Still waiting! Yes hurry up and wait continues.  The Dr told A that they would put her on the list to be induced next Tuesday if he doesn’t active before then.  And yes I said list! It’s first come first serve!  Military Dr and hospital.. go figure.  Lol 

Jacob94mom - maybe we'll be getting grandbabies on the same day lol!  C should hear today when they want her to come in.....

Just got the call from C - they are to be at the hospital at 9am on Tuesday!  I'm gonna be a Lollie soon ;-D

So excited for all of you!!  LOVE the name for grandma!

Jacob94mom, wow, on the list, well, hopefully the little fella comes before Tuesday.  Congrats to all. 

Baby is coming on Tuesday and this is what B&C are doing this weekend!  C wanted her dirt for her garden boxes delivered on Monday.  Well the MI weather didn't cooperate so it got pushed to Tuesday and then finally delivered yesterday!  They spent part of the day moving it to the back yard and her plan is to get it finished up this weekend - and all her veggies planted!  They'll finish moving it today and then let the planting begin.  I told her this might put her in to labor lol!

mariecb - I'm going to be Lollie and hubby will be Pop.  So together we will be......wait for it.....

Lollie and Pop - LolliePop!!!!  (still deciding if there will be an "e" or not!).

They had their final ultra sound today - technician told them that Oliver is weighing in at 9lbs 11 oz +/- 8oz!  Boy I hope they are incorrect lol!

 We could have a baby today!  The went to the hospital about 5 am. They were going to send them back home.  But baby’s heart rate dropped for a bit so now they are monitoring him and inducing!  Pray for everyone’s safety. And my son he passed out at one of their classes.  Lol. Sid’s mom is there just in case. 

Oh my! Praying for a safe delivery and a happy “birth-day” for them! And give your son strength too!

Lollie and Pop are awesome names. My husband goes by Pops. :) I wish I would have thought of Lollie although I have a strong sentimental heart for Granny (which is what I go by).

   Heart rate is good, so they broke her water, did an epidural and have started pitocin.  Progress is slow but steady.  Both mom and dad are getting naps in here and there. Mother in law went home to let out the dogs and get some sleep.  

Jacob94mom - thanks for the update! Hopefully it will be soon. Glad they’re able to get some naps in…rest while they can!

We got our last “bump” picture from C. 39 weeks today. They’re still all set for Tuesday.
