Oh Blondie, that is so beautiful!! :) And the others are so cute! And yes, I had my own bout with a ringing phone yesterday, so I can totally relate to that quote. As you know, I received a phone call when I shouldnt, so we have some issues to get through...she called yesterday and I about ran over someone to get my phone where I had better service so I can talk to her...comical!

    I have become a N4M's addict!! I have to watch that....haha. I have a job to keep!

Hope everyone is having a great day! Happy Thursday! I will check back in soon!

    Good afternoon!

I am so far behind and it will take a while to catch up. We had a good time in Virginia, saw lots of family, ate too much good food, and realized that we are glad we don't have to fight the traffic there every day. It is much more peaceful here. Also, somehow it is so nice to get back to your own bed.
  • EQ

Wade--My heart goes out to you along with my prayers. God willing everything will come back negative.
  • Anna

    Wade,
Well it sounds like the good news/bad news is mostly good so we thank God for that!!! Will they be doing the radiation soon or will they let you heal up from this surgery before they hit you with more. I know you don't want to be out of work for that long but your health is more important.
Still praying that you heal quickly and completely and are singing in the shower before long!!! (even if you didn't sing in the shower before!!!) ha ha
  • MandE'smom(Hi, I'm Mary)

Wade, keeping you in our prayers here. Sending you get well hugs!
  • Anna

    DC,
Glad you're back and that you had a nice trip. Yes, that VA traffic can be insane sometimes. Know what you mean about being in your own bed!!!!!!
  • Anna

    Wade,
That's good news for you!!! Now enjoy your visit with your sailors!!! Get a small bell so you don't have to call out!!!!
  • gsdkids (daughter AN)

BS will be ending in just over an hour for divisions 271, 272, 273, and 274. Hoping all four divisions went well and have a great Capping ceremony. Due to the big number of divisions it sounds like I may not get the phone call until tomorrow. Good thing I will be busy helping with high school registration=with my phone set at the scream setting so I don't miss it ringing. Don't care how annoying that might be to some, but they'll get over it.
  • Oneofalot

    Good Morning Everyone.
This computer is not emailing me like it use to. To let me know that one of you sent something. I wonder why. I missed ya all yesterday.
  • Oneofalot

GSDkids, Congrats on you sailor finishing up. Yeah, they should be just starting graduation by now. It was very exciting to go. Sorry you couldn't go.

Those are really cool. Do you know that it is raining here in Seattle and will be all weekend. Oh well, I've done Sea Fair in the rain before it won't be the last.
  • Cathi

Thank You Jean. Isnt it almost always raining in seattle? - at least thats what they lead you to believe on tv.
  • Oneofalot

Yea, we do rain most of the time. At least this year it has rain more then being sunny. I wish we would get some sun. I feel like it is in the middle of October around here. No sun and no warmth.
  • Anna

Morning all!! Looks like others are having troubles with our website. I've stopped getting all email notifications but I thought it was just me because I was having a problem on something else and had sent a message to Ning. I thought it was just my account that got messed up. Makes me a little relieved to know others are having problems also.

    Jean,
Just a little humor to share about your weather there in the Seattle area. Jenn went out there the beginning of June to visit with her twin sister Catherine. They were all playing around in some fountain in Seattle and there is a picture of Jenn and Cath hugging each other at this fountain. Everyone who sees this picture notices how WHITE Catherine looks compared to Jennifer. They both used to be so tanned and you can really tell what a year + living in WA has done to Catherine!!!! It is such a comical picture to friends and family that know the two girls!!!!
  • Cathi

So Sorry Jean, our weather has been very rainy also. Everyone has had very weird weather and I dont think it is all El Nino. Just keep a boat handy so you dont drown! :-) Praying for sunshine for you.
  • Oneofalot

Anna, just tell them the Catherine is not tan any more she is rusted. lol. Sort of our since of humor over here about the rain.
  • Oneofalot

Thanks Cathi, I would really like sun. This rain is sucky when it is suppose to be sunny in August here. I have lived here all my life and this is one of the wets summer in history.
  • DC - G'mother of My Fav Sailor

Wade, I am glad that the doctors think that they got everything that was cancerous. I know the relief you must be feeling to finally get some answers and to have a plan of action.

It is another warm day here and humid too. I am ready for a chilly fall!
  • Oneofalot

Yea it is back up and running.
  • Anna

    Jean,
lol - she asked me the other day if I had any info on how to care for webbed feet????
  • Oneofalot

    Yeah, lots of rain. lol
  • Cathi

  • Oneofalot

Thanks Blondie. I am glad that they are the same. At least they are not hurting anyone with different ones.
  • MandE'smom(Hi, I'm Mary)

Hi guys...got my box today. She tucked notes to us in there. :) So sweet. I miss her.
  • Cathi

Hey Blondie those a great recipes too!
  • Cathi

Hi Melsmom my guess is she wrote them on the way to boot camp and just before they turned their stuff in not that it matters but once that box is closed they cant write untill their allowed. But what ever she did it dont matter a note is a note.
  • Anna

    Melsmom,
What a wonderful surprise for you inside that box!! I'm happy for you!! Now how are you holding up?
  • MandE'smom(Hi, I'm Mary)

Yeah, she wrote the notes at the airport...she was preparing! :) So sweet! She wrote one to us and one for me to deliver to her boyfriend. We will be seeing him tomorrow, and I know he will be very happy to it.

As for me..the honest answer...eh...I am a little worn around the edges. The rest of the world gets the standard "Im fine" answer. This week feels like all 8 of those weeks could fit in it. My nerves are worked over. I would probably be a lot better if I knew her issues were in the clear. I am, however, still able to keep up that brave front. My very busy lifestyle helps, but in the long run, I know it just adds more stress.

This site has been a lifeline for me. Listening to other women, venting some...such therapy. I really appreciate everything!!
  • Anna

Hang in there Melsmom!! Always come here when you need some escape from keeping up that brave front!!! We understand how you feel. Go have a nice hot shower and let all that stress and tears flow away!!!
  • MandE'smom(Hi, I'm Mary)

Thanks Anna...Funny...She had her pajamas in the box. I thought she gave them to us at MEPS. I pulled them out and now I am contemplating wearing them!
  • Anna

Awww - if you can fit in them by all means I would wear them!!! Kind of like getting a hug from her and giving her one back!!! I never could fit in anything my girls wear!!!
  • MandE'smom(Hi, I'm Mary)

Yeah, I can. :) I am a little bigger than she is, but not by much! :)
  • MandE'smom(Hi, I'm Mary)

And thank you...all of you!! It was so good to share my JOY!!
  • gsdkids (daughter AN)

Thankful. Thankful that my daughter is no longer a seaman recruit, but a Sailor.
Thankful to the RDC's and Petty Officers that pushed her when she needed pushed. Thankful that I got to talk to her today even though I thought I had missed her call = she called again. Thankful that I leave tomorrow to begin the journey to Great Lakes=two stops between here and there to see family.
Thankful that I get to see her in one week, give her a hug and spend a lot of invaluable time before she boards a plane to Pensacola early the next morning.

Last-Thankful that I have N4M's to read and express.
  • MandE'smom(Hi, I'm Mary)

    Good morning, moms! :)

    Good Morning Everyone.

  • Anna

    C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S to all our newest sailors!!!! And have safe travels and a wonderful visit for all those who are traveling to PIR!!!

    NavyMom,
Glad you heard from your sailor!! That sounds like an interesting program. Hope she is able to fulfill her dreams!!!

    Joanne,
Have a happy birthday celebration with your aunt!!

    Jean,
    Enjoy those angels!!!

Have a wonderful weekend to everyone else!!!
  • DC - G'mother of My Fav Sailor

Congratulations to all the new sailors! Moms, I know that you are bursting with pride but PIR will be even better. I had to miss PIR for my g'daughter but did attend marine graduation for my grandson. It was so great to see the platoons march in. I can only imagine what it would be like to see the big doors open and see the divisions standing there.

NavyMom, I do hope that your daughter gets into the program and is able to teach at the Academy. Annapolis is such a fantastic town. Was your daughter NROTC or a USNA grad. Either way it will be a great experience. What would her master's be in?
  • DC - G'mother of My Fav Sailor

NM, I thought that I had remembered her being in NROTC. Then a stint at the Academy will be such a grand experience. She will gain the rich background that exists there along with all the traditions. If she finds the program to her liking, I hope that she goes for it.
  • Anna

    Wade,
Sounds like you have enough energy there for several of us!!!! Wishing your daughter a safe trip home and hope you enjoy every minute of her visit!!! Now, did you say your son was coming home for a visit also? If so, when does he get there?
    Enjoy hubby's bday!!!!

    NavyMom,
Our family lived in Annapolis for 11 years!! It is such a beautiful part of the country and so historic. I woud love to move back there someday. If this is a good choice for your daughter I hope she gets the opportunity to go to the academy!!!

Good morning! It's raining in Maine but I'm not complaining because we really do need the rain. At least it is what the Irish call a "soft" rain.
