There you go. That really does make them think. I know that my next big vacation will be when my daughter comes back from deployment. I want to see the ship come in. That will be in September or October, I think.

So excited to have recieved 3 letters today my daughter sounded up beat and happy. The best part of my day was when my phone rang and it was her. She said that she had to to watch and follow an inspector and he told her she did good and gave her a 30 minute call yeah. Not to sure what she was talking about with the inspector she was talking a mile a minute lol

That is cool. I will have to look in to that and send something to my daughters ship. They would all like that.

Good Because I got paid this week and won't have money pass this weekend. Thanks for letting me know. I forgot that ALL PACKAGES have to be sent in order for the sailors to get them.

I made my g'daughter's reservations for January so now it does seem real! She will be here for a couple of weeks and I do look forward to the visit.

Hi Ladies....I have great news...I spoke to my friend in WA (a nurses aide) and she said she will do "well checks" on my Mom....shhhh...we're not telling her the visits are "well checks" (just kidding).

I have been talking and praying with my daughter almost every night. I didn't realize she had so much test anxiety but it is getting so much better and I know with each challenge that she conquers her confidence will get better and stronger. Mom is along for the ride and can't wait to see the "birth" of confidence!!!

Sorry you are having a bad day. Hope it will change. I am on cloud 9. I emailed my favorite music person and he actually CALLED me. He wants to send me a signed copy of his CD. Can you believe that. I was just happy with the call. HE is also going to make a song and dedicate it to my mom so I can give it out for Christmas.

DC, Send it my way. I love the Snow and wish it was back. I know I get cabin fever when it snows but I also get a lot of exercise because I have to walk everywhere.

Wow!! Where is everyone?? I don't ever think I've seen this group this silent before!!! Hope everyone is doing well. We woke up to 4 inches of snow this morning. They have someone plow the parking lot and sidewalks but hubby and I had to shovel out behind and alongside the cars. Then we got about another 2 inches throughout the day today.
Nick got home last night from his sub cruise!!! Daughter is so happy to have him back home, and in time for the Christmas holiday!!!

Hi Anna...I'm here. Just checking in periodically in between cleaning out closets..lol. Had to rent storage space for things like luggage, x-mas decos (when christmas is over), exercise equipment, etc. and of course, I had to get it to the storage BY MYSELF. Also trying to get ready for sailors homecoming. I feel so bad when I hear of all this snow everywhere...the most we get is rain and even that is sprinkles for a day or two. Be safe everyone

Hello and Welcome!! Glad to have you here with us. My daughter went to Meridian for her A school 2 and half years ago as a PS. What is your daughter's rate? Has she been through bootcamp yet? Joining the group is a good idea. Do you have some specific questions or just looking for someone in the same boat??!!

'Tis snowing in Maine as well. This is our first real accumulation. We have about four inches and it is still coming down. The good part is that DH will be inside and can help me with some Christmas activities.

Cat, I think there is a Web cam there. It is just on the other side of the pond to me. But I think there is one. You should check into. Or I can for you if you would like.

Well we have about 6 inches on the ground. Of course where it drifts it's much deeper. Had to shovel my car out again this morning. I started volunteering with the Diocese of Marquette - I'm helping the curator of the archives!! She has so much stuff that comes to her that she really needs someone to help sort through it and put it in files. Very interesting stuff!!! But it means I'm gone all day so I won't be getting on until the evenings. I enjoy having some place to go during the day and doing some small part of helping out the Diocese!! Luckily I'm used to driving in the snow, so these 6 inches didn't keep me home. However, if it keeps this up overnight . . . . . .

I am just not used to it and it just seems unnatural to be operating in anything this cold! But am thankful it doesnt snow. People around here dont even know how to drive in the rain! Hello ladies. I'm hearing about the cold front moving through the midwest. Even Texas and Florida seem to be having cold weather. Here in Seattle we're at a balmy 53. Kinda strange. A couple days ago I was scraping the INSIDES of my car windows it was so cold.

Ohh, I may have found the perfect Christmas gift for my sailor....those really thick comfy looking pajamas and robes that they are selling now and some comfy slippers to take on the ship with her....do you think she will be able to wear them?

Still a cold one in Florida (and everywhere else it seems). I sent Patrick (my 10 year old) all bundled up again...he just rolls his eyes like I am crazy making him wear so much.

My sailor comes home in 10 days!! cannot wait! I am waiting to decorate the Christmas Tree until she gets here. I am sooooo excited! :)

Ladypinkhatter, I would get her a ship to shore calling card because when she does go on deployment that will be her only way to talk to you. They might not allow Skype on deployment. I know my daughters ship is still questioning it.
