my sailor is ready to get back to va, he is getting depressed, i hope he gets his package soon, i am hoping that will help him a little, they have to stay strong for each other, we just have to pray that god will send them to their home base. they all are doing such great jobs there. we have a lot to be proud of
From kyles email that i got yesterday they are taking time about for days off, kyle said he went fishing and swimming in cuba, maybe having some time off the ship will help all of them.
from what i gather from kyle is that is was off the ship in cuba fishing and swimming and now he is back on the ship. he got his package today. has any of your sailors been sick. kyle has mention to me several times about being sick such as vomiting. that concers me i told him he needs to go to the doctor, he said it is a virus, but it could be something else. hope all the other sailors gets to have a little time to get off the ship, i think they all need a little r&r
i talked with my son last nite and he said some of the guys was off the ship and staying in quba for a few days, stilll no word on when they will be coming home
we all are in the same boat, my sailor is ready to be back in va, that still does not mean we get to see him, we are 14 hours away. since he is off the ship, he has no access to us what so ever, so the ones on the ship think they have it so bad, the ones off the ship dont have it any better
we are looking forward to our sailor back to va, may be it wont be long and we can make a trip to you, so proud of you and your crew. flying high for the navy go HM-14 squadron
Hello.... Our sailor is not on Bataan, but has been assigned to it, when ever they need him... So figured I would join, to learn more, as my sailor is so tight lipped... I hope your group does not mind me joining.... Thank you... P
my sailor is in FL and will be making his way to VA today, boy I wish he was coming to TN. glad they made it back safe, thank you god for your blessings
In the All Hands Magazine the the navy puts out, there are some good pictures in there of our sailors in Haiti. There is a picture of my sailor and another guy carring a little girl to get medical care
To all... This came from another N4Moms site, I did not change a word, but know some have daughters as Sailors also... P
Found this on another site but it describes me!! I know many of you feel the same. Sorry its long but worth it!!
You don't know, but I am the mom who cries every morning and hopes every night for his safe return. I am the mom that drags herself out of bed every morning so that he will be proud of her when he comes home.
You don't know but I am the mom with a million things to say, but none will come out without the thought of him. I am the mom who checks her phone every 5 seconds just to make sure I haven't missed his call. I am the mom who stops and stares and wishes for him to return soon each and every time another man in uniform walks by.
What you don't know is that I know love on an entirely different level than most. I know the love that spans time and space. The love that most parents are constantly searching for.
I can tell you I know more about love in homecoming, then most know in a lifetime. You don't know that when he left a part of me went with him and a part of him stayed with me. You tell me that you know how I feel and understand what I am going through, but you have no idea, so please don't say you do.
What you don't realize is that I understand the true meaning of not only love but of longing and anticipation.
You don't see, but I am one of the few who gets goose bumps and choke back the tears as my heart fills with pride every time I hear the national anthem play. I am one of those moms that will stand tall and stay strong on the outside when I feel like I am dying on the inside.
I am one of the moms who will make friends with complete strangers, for only they can begin to understand what I am going through for they go through it each and every day also with one of their loved ones serving. And please don't say you do, because you never will. You don't understand that I picture his face everywhere I go and he is with me in everything I do.
You think I don't cry anymore, that I have gotten over it... What you don't know is that I just hide it better.
You don't know the feeling the word "deployment" brings. Or the feeling of his hand as it slides out of your hand for what could be forever as he boards the bus, the ship or the plane that will take him to harms way. You don't know what that last smile, hug and kiss mean, how important that goodbye truly is.
You tell me you support the troops, I tell you I love a Salior. I am one of the silent, but outgoing. One of the weak but strong. Scared but Proud.
What you don't see is that he needs me & I need him.
I am one of those moms who stands tall behind her Sailor.
Stands tall behind her hero.
Stands tall behind her son.
Watching silently and patiently as he serves and defends our country, praying many, many times throughout the day for his safety......waiting for him to come home with that same mischievous smile and that same twinkle in his eyes and to hear those precious, precious words, "Mom, I'm on US soil. I'll be home soon."
You don't see that I will drop to my knees and thank God for my son's safe return. You don't know the tears of relief I will sob and you don't know that for the first time in seven months, I can truly breathe again
Hi Bataan Family, My son just got his orders for USS Bataan wont be their for another couple of months yet. Just wanted to get to know you all and what to expect during this next chapter of Navy life.
So I guess he will keep it there until deployment, and hope they don't give him 5 day notice.lol! Then that will be tough to get there before he would leave. We live in Mo.
Kellie thanks for the info. TAD for 7 months thats not what I call temporary but in the navy maybe so. lol
Sandra did you ever find out if your son knows mine. I did leave a message with Curtis but never responed yet. Maybe he'll talk to me over the weekend.
kellie do you know when they are suppose to go? Just a round about time. I know we are not suppose to comment about such things on line. I just need to plan ahead if I can.
hi i am new to this group but my husband has been on the bataan since august and he has been in the navy for a year and i dont know what to expect with this deployment coming up.....can any one help me out??
Wish all the sailors that are out at sea a Happy Valentines Day and their loved ones that are not with them. Keep your heads up spirits high and a smile that is what your sailor needs. Just to know his family at home are doing fine.
We N4Moms need to stick together for support, we all need a shoulder to lean on. God Bless

WOW That would be hard for a mom, but for a spouse even harder. Hope that doesn't happen this time around.
When they are not on a ship were do they stay. Do they have a room on base or do they stay on the ship. Sorry I really don't know much.
