Oh, NewSeason, this is such hard news to hear. I know she was received by our Lord with loving arms. My heart goes out to the family.
  • carols_kitchen

Thank you God for sunshine today! And, temperatures above 30 (actually 48 outside right now.) If we praise you for this physical event, how much more do we praise the life of Christ!

    Eternal God
I come before you on bended knees. Please be with my co-worker, Sally, as she tends to a family emergency. Her sister had an aneurism and is at St. Louis University hospital with bleeding on the brain. Please guide her sister's medical care team. Also, care for Sally, who is the one everyone comes to when they have a need in her family. She is tired and worn. Continue to give her strength as she also deals with an ill mother in Illinois.
You are the protector of all and for this we bless and praise your name.
    Amen

Praises to God. Our Youth group has grown so much at church that we have had to tear down some walls to give them a big room to meet in!
  • carols_kitchen

Please keep my co-worker, Sally's sister in your prayers. They briefly brought her out of her induced coma to see if she could breathe on her own, and her rate was only 5%. She has new infection to fight off, and they have inserted another shunt on her brain.
Please pray for the sister, Lynne, and her family. Lynne is 21.
  • carols_kitchen

Please pray for those prayers so personal that only You, God, know their source.

    For Immediate Release

    April 2, 2010
US Navy Ends Search For Missing Aviator

From U.S. FIFTH Fleet Public Affairs

MANAMA, Bahrain - After an extensive search by military units, the Navy
suspended search and rescue efforts at 6 p.m. (Zulu +4) on April 2 for the
fourth crew member from the E-2C that crashed March 31. The missing pilot
has been declared deceased. Lt. Steven Zilberman, 31, was born in Ukraine and considered Columbus, Ohio his hometown. He served in the Navy for nearly eight years. "This is a heart-wrenching loss for the Zilberman family and the Bluetail family" said Cmdr. Joseph F. Finn, Carrier Airborne Early WarningSquadron (VAW) 121's commanding officer. "It is our exceptional people that are the strength of our community and our Navy. Steven was one such individual. He bravely and willingly accepted the risks of an inherently dangerous job. He was a fine aviator and we are better people for having him in our lives. I extend my deepest sympathy to Steven's family and friends. He will not be forgotten."

The E-2C Hawkeye from VAW 121, the Bluetails, stationed aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) impacted the water approximately five miles from the
    ship.

Several ships and aircraft, including USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, USS Carney,
USNS Supply and other U.S. Central Command Navy and Air Force aircraft
searched more than 5,300 square miles for the missing aviator.

"Lt. Zilberman was an exceptional Naval Officer and pilot who embodied the
best of what America represents," said Capt. Roy Kelley, commander, Carrier
Air Wing (CVW) 7. "We are deeply saddened by this tremendous loss of a
fellow aviator and Shipmate. He will be truly missed, and our heart goes out
to the Zilberman family during this very difficult time. "

Three of the four crewmembers were recovered shortly after the crash and are
in good condition without significant injuries.

The E-2C was returning from conducting operations in support of Operation
Enduring Freedom (OEF) when the aircraft experienced mechanical malfunctions and the crew performed a controlled bailout.

VAW 121 is homeported in Norfolk, Va. and is part CVW 7 assigned to the USS
    Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group (CSG).

The cause of the accident is under investigation

Eternal God, on this weekend of miracles, we ask for prayers for our missing navy aviator. Please wrap his family, friends and shipmates in your loving arms. Amen
  • John and Yvonne

I haven't been on here in quite some time, so I just want to make a short comment here by way of introduction. I'm a retired Navy chaplain. Yvonne and I have a "home away from home" for servicemen and women in our home on weekends. On Saturdays we get together for food fun and games. On Sundays we have a big home cooked meal after church and then we relax, watch Christian videos, have Bible studies where the guys and girls can ask questions and hopefully get some answers.

If your sons or daughters get orders to the Norfolk-Virginia Beach area and you think they might be interested in getting away from the base for a few hours, into a "real" home, with a real family, let them know about us. We'd love to invite them over. Send us a private message on here and we'll give you our contact information. We've had several Navyformoms' sailors to the house. Some Navyformoms have even visited!

We would appreciate your prayers for us. Sometimes it seems like the enemy wants to do everything he can to stop what we are trying to do. But I know that the Lord Jesus is still on the throne and still in control!
  • carols_kitchen

    Eternal God
Thank you for miracles, as my co-worker's sister recovered from ICU and today was such a great site for eyes! She is leaving the major hospital in St Louis and being sent back to her hometown hospital for rehab.
Also, please pray for the family of the 4th sailor who was declared deceased. Enfold his family, friends and shipmates in your arms of care.
    Amen
  • carols_kitchen

Just asking for a personal prayer of support. Today would have been my brother's birthday, and I just miss him very much. Please continue to support his wife and their two adult sons. Eric was a champion for God and Jesus, and went to join his savior 4 years ago.
    Thank you.
  • Deb Big Lake

My son doesn't leave until August, but he's in for 6 years! I have fear of the unknown regarding his future. BUt, God did not give us a spirit of fear but of love and a sound mind. I am looking forward to learning to use this website, cause I know nothing about the Navy, really.

    Psalm 150
    1 Praise the LORD. [a]
    Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.

    2 Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.

3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,

4 praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,

5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
    praise him with resounding cymbals.

6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
    Praise the LORD.

Dear Father God, I am praying for Luke and the group of Airmen on their way to Afghanistan right now. Please surround them with a hedge of protective angels and bring them home safely when their tour of deployment is through. In Jesus name, Amen.

rln16--that is one of my favorite bible verses. Thanks for posting it!
  • Cheryl Proud to be Allen's Mom

Lord God, please give Luke and his group the comfort and encouragement that they need in Kandahar. It has become worse conditions that his previous deployment and they are having trouble with being able to see the positive. Surround them with Your hedge of protection and allow them to to do Your will and walk in Your way. Be with Ali and the girls while Luke is away. Thank you for protecting them when she had the tire blow-out on the highway going home from dropping Luke off at the base. Watch over Allen, Jessica & Audrina as they travel to Ohio and Virginia. Please give them the peace and comfort only You can give when and while Allen is overseas in Diego Garcia. In Your loving and precious name Jesus, Amen.
  • Samsonsmom

Holy Father, we praise You for your great love toward us. We read the words of your servant David in Psalm 34 and are strengthened. We ask a special measure of Your grace upon those who are brokenhearted and crushed in spirit because of changed ratings and other sorrows that cause them to cry out to You. We seek You Lord, and You answer us, You deliver us from all our fears. We look to You and are radiant. Our faces will never be ashamed. Send comfort to your children, a Christian roommate or a kind word from a Chaplain at chow. Show us Your glory Father and be near to those who call upon you now. In the mighty saving name of Jesus, our Savior, Amen.
  • carols_kitchen

    Dear God--
Don't cha just love it when you are dragging in to work and get busted by the first person who sees you! Gee, Carol, you look exhausted. Yes, I am, after making an ancient school kitchen look good for 5 different companies to come bid on our food services.
God, How often do we tire you out and how do you rest up? I thank you for the gift of a good night's sleep. We praise you for all you do for us.
    Amen

Has anyone seen the new movie out called Letters to God?
    If so, how was it?
  • carols_kitchen

Bless Blondie and her daugher! Praises never end.
  • Cheryl Proud to be Allen's Mom

Dear Lord, why is it that we always try to handle our problems/troubles on our own and it isn't until we come to the end of ourselves before we decide that we need to come to You? This is a very heartbreaking situation for me to have one of my children going through the troubles that Allen is facing right now. I know that You are in control and watching over him, but it is so troubling to me that Jessica can be doing what she is doing to a man she 'claims' to love more than anyone she has ever been with. She also claims that Allen is the best thing to ever happen to her, yet she is trying to shut him out and delete him from her life like a high school childish breakup. This is so much more heartbreak than I can stand. Allen does love her and wants their marriage to work, but it seems like she isn't willing to try anymore. Jessica doesn't seem to understand the difficult situation she is putting Allen in. Please turn her heart back to her marriage vows and back to Allen. Please turn Allen's heart back to his marriage vows and to Jessica. They married so quickly and now that she is having my grandchild, it is so much more important that they work this out. In Your loving and most precious name Lord, hear my pleas!!!! Thank you for listening and doing Your will. In Jesus name, Amen.

Please everyone who reads this...the more praying the better!!! Allen is set to go overseas on May 4, 2010 and his marriage is in serious trouble. Please pray for them!!!! Thank you!!!!

    Hi
    Cheryl
My husband and I were in a Marriage enrichment group when we first got married and that has help alot.
I know it is hard with deployments but have them check out the WMMR office to see about Marriage enrichment groups on the bases or the area churches around the bases. Check with the Chapel offices on the bases too.
    Hope this helps.
there is alot about marriage that we did not know or others did not know until we went to some of theses Marriage enrichment groups.
  • carols_kitchen

    Eternal God
We bless the gift of marriage you have given to the world. Sometimes the world seems to close in on that precious gift.
We ask that you raise up Allen's marriage and bless it beyond anyone's common earth beliefs. Please enter his wife's heart that she may see the blessing this is and how much can give back to you.
We ask that you watch over all our military families, their spouses and children.
    Amen
  • Cheryl Proud to be Allen's Mom

Dear God, thank you so very much for these wonderful ladies who care enough to pray for my children and me. Please watch over and protect them, their families and all military families. I also pray that you would put it on Allen & Jessica's heart to go to marriage counseling, as I am sure that this is very much needed and would help tremendously. Thank you for loving and caring for each and everyone of your children. Praise and Honor are Yours!!! Jesus name, Amen.
  • Cheryl Proud to be Allen's Mom

Dear Father, also please watch over and give Luke, my SIL the encouragement, protection and strength while he is deployed to Afghanistan. Also, watch over, guide and protect Alison, Kenz & Madi while he is deployed. Thank you again Father God, I pray in Your most precious name, Amen.

Thank you all for your prayers for my son, Allen and his wife, Jessica. They are finally together in Ohio before he ships out on May 4. They are talking and working out their differences. Hoping and praying they are making progress. Please continue to pray for them though...they aren't out of the woods yet.
