We are expecting to miss the heavy snows.  However, it will rain all day in Southern Illinois, drop to dangerous lows and up to 50 mile an hour winds by midnight.  Praying all keep their power, keep safe and stay inside if it does get this dangerous outside.

  • Cheryl Proud to be Allen's Mom

Please dear Lord, watch over, surround and protect all those who are traveling or will be traveling in the bad weather hitting us all up here in the north. Please especially protect my daugther & granddaughter as they have to travel in the horrible weather Sunday to & from Kalamazoo. Bring them home safe & sound without any troubles. Thank you, Father God. In Jesus name, Amen.
  • carols_kitchen

Sharon, that is so sad.  We just had a military man loose his legs to an IED this week in our neighboring town.  It hurts to know how his dreams have changed.

  • Cheryl Proud to be Allen's Mom

So sad & hard to hear of losing another troop. :'( tears. Praying for his family, friends & military family.

Cheryl--glad your family made it safely home.

  • Cheryl Proud to be Allen's Mom

    Thank u Carol.
  • BugsMom

Glad your son an DIL arrived safely and you made it home before the big storm came thru. I would like to request prayer...my refrigerator stopped working and our car is in desperate need of repair, please pray my husband can figure out both problems. We are thankful to have friends to help us get to our jobs and home and for allowing us to use their freezers. We lost quite a bit of food and since we live in a trailer the fridge is quite expensive, we can't afford to replace it. Thank you and God bless you all!
  • carols_kitchen

THis has been a bad season for refrigerators. Both my co=worker and I lost a deep freeze and fridge.  I'm hoping yours can be fixed with something simple like a timer.  Ours was only 6 yrs old and couldn't be fixed.  Guess we got an early Chrismtas gift.

Blondie and Sheila--great news.  Thanks for sharing.

  • Nanette

Please pray for my grandson 11mo. old.  He will have surgery tomorrow 7:30AM pacific time.  To bring down a testicle only one has come down.  Pray that God will be with the medical team that will be with him.  And for my daughter and her husband that they be calm as possible.  (for Gods comfort)

  • carols_kitchen

Nanetter, may God wrap his arms around your family as he guides the medical care team.  I understand this is quite a successful surgery, but anytime someone is in surgery, we worry. We will be waiting to hear all went well.

  • BugsMom

Nanette, I pray the surgery goes well and your daughter and son in law feel God's prescence.
My husband couldn't get the car fixed, so we need to find a part that will fix it and please pray that my husband will be able to replace it.
God bless you all, have a wonderful day....
  • Nanette

Thank you for your prayers.  Kellon is doing well, he also had to have a hernia repaired.  They tried to do a coddle block ?;-\  but they were not able to get it so he had some local in the area, as well as the anesthesia  and they have to be diligent in keeping up on the pain meds for him.  Daughter is worried because it's one that she is allergic to.  I told her we wont know until he has a dose so you jut have to go with it.  He did fine with it and in between he gets motrin.  Soooooo we are all taking turns loving on him rough to do (ha ha) and he gets to use mamo's special pillow:-} Anyway all went well and again thank you for your prayers.

  • BugsMom

So glad to hear all went well Nanette.
I had some friends intervene today. One called a local mechanic to see if they could look at my car, then came to tell me we had to go right then. My boss followed up there. They got my car up on the rack right away and told me that I was lucky that the wheel hadn't come off! They ordered the parts and should have it fixed tomorrow. The price is within what I had put aside. He said one of the major parts is damaged but should be okay! Another friend took me on a ride and handed me the keys to her truck she doesn't use very often and told me I could use it until I got mine back. It's amazing how God works when you just stop struggling and ask Him for the help you need! Thank you all for your prayers, I'll keep you posted.

My cousin who is currently serving in Afghanistan recently shared this information: Cpl. Derek Wyatt (USMC) died Dec 6 while serving in Afghanistan. He leaves behind a wife and a newborn son named in his honor, who was born approx 24 hours after news of his death.

Please pray for this young family as they struggle with extreme grief and extreme joy.

  • Cheryl Proud to be Allen's Mom

Kathy, thank you for sharing the info from your cousin.  I will be praying for this young family, Derek's unit and your cousin, also.  Praying for all of our military.

  • Nanette

Praise be to God he is good.  We thank you Lord that we can trust in your will and your timing for all things in our lives.  We don't always understand your will right now, but one day it will be revealed to us.  Thank you God for giving us your son.  We love you.

Father - thank you for all that you do for us each day.  The opportunities to excel never seem to cease, and your blessings abound.  I ask that you give Blondie and her daughter the precious time they need to be together.  You created the relationship between mothers and daughters, and many of us feel the extrodinary love and the tight bond this relationship brings us.  Give Blondie and her family relief from worry, and allow this visit to happen in the best possible way.  Be with all of our military and their families.  Touch each heart and bring them the knowledge that those of us back home are thinking of them, praying for them, and appreciating them.  Thank you.  Amen.

Blondie - go get on that plane!  You are going to see your girl - I wish you sweet hugs with her and that every second you are together is joyful and relaxing.

  • Cheryl Proud to be Allen's Mom

Blondie I am praying for you all & that you will be able to spend the precious time with your daughter. I am in total agreement with Kathy's prayer. Amen

Praises for the seasons and an open heart as we listen for the whispers from our God.

  • KathyMmom

Hooray Blondie!!!  Praises and thanksgiving!  Have a blessed time with your precious sailor and safe travels home.  Praying for a special Christmas for all of our military and their families - wherever they may be.  Together in our hearts.
  • carols_kitchen

You won't be home for Christmas,

    You're half a world away;

An empty place at table side

    To welcome Christmas day.

    Your portrait's on the mantel

    Where once your stocking hung.

You smile at us, in uniform,

So brave, so sweet... so young.

    While others' homes are crowded

    With family and friends,

We'll think of you with longing

    And love that never ends.

We'll join hands round the table,

    And say a heartfelt prayer.

We'll ask God to protect you,

And keep you in his care.

    And though we're not together

    As Christmas eve departs,

You will be home for Christmas.

We'll hold you in our hearts.

Praise God! I was just able to talk to my son, Allen. He was finally on Facebook when I logged on & we had a good chat. Things still aren't going well with him & his wife & we still misses his daughters a lot, but he sounds a little better. He & Jessica, his wife are atleast talking a little. Going to keep praying for miracles in their marriage. He is working on Christmas day like most of our military. Please Lord, be with all of our military at this special time & always. Comfort & protect them all wherever they may be. Amen
  • Cheryl Proud to be Allen's Mom

Carol, thank you for sharing that. It brings tears to my eyes, but says it so perfectly. Merry Christmas eve & hugs to all!

Blessings to all this glorious season.  I pray you feel Gods loving arms around you, as you miss those that can't be you.  I ask God that you keep arms tightly around all of our service men and women, protect them, and bring them home to their families as soon as possible.  We love You and celebrate You Lord Jesus.

    AMEN BLONDIE & CHERYL!

Please pray for a recruit in boot camp who has not received any letters in the 4 weeks he has been there.  Just got his address today from another N4M mom andI pray that our letters & cards of encouragement will bless him.

May God our Father of all comfort wrap HIS arms around this young man & touch him and make it known how much HE loves him.

May the Joy of Christmas be his and all of military's.

    Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

  • Nanette

getting ready for our Christmas Eve tradition.  Lou Malnati's pizza shipped fresh from Chicago over night on dry ice. (they ship anywhere,we are in OR) Salad and then warm sugar cookies, hot chocolate and The Polar Express movie.  Earlier in the week we took a ride on the Polar Express AKA Mt. Hood Railroad.  it was fun, they have the bum, the bakers, the conductor comes and punches your ticket with a letter, and Santa shows up with a bell for every child, and everyone on the train gets a cookie, hot chocolate with a nice polar express ceramic mug.  They sing songs and read the story The Polar Express, great fun for the little ones.
