I've been enjoying time with my Son, and it is soon coming to an end... dreading that! BUT, I haven't been on here since Homecoming and wanted to share my highlight. I was standing in line at concession to get coffee and the sweetest Grandma was behind me. We talked about our Sailors, and just talked like friends. She had lost her Husband during this deployment, and her Grandson was very close to him, and this Homecoming was just extra emotional, and special. How honored I was to chat with her, and before I got my coffee, my Husband came and pulled us out of line. I so wanted to stay with this Grandmother and continue talking and buy her a coffee, but had to leave. I hugged her goodbye and told her to tell her Grandson thank you for me. Thank you to all of you and yours! Blessings abound, that we see and do not see! I am glad God blessed me with meeting her!

(May 1, 2014)  Happy National Day of Prayer!  And to GOD be the Glory!  Good afternoon Sisters - I’m back and everything is OKAY with me.  I had my follow-up on Tuesday my Drs. Said all tests came back negative I didn’t have a heart attack nor a stroke but I did have a dead cell either in my head or heart.  My health problems was due to extreme STRESS and I have to get rid of ALL negative things and people out of my LIFE now!   Lol   I told my Drs. that not going to be a problem for me now, because we female/moms always put everybody before us.  I’m a single, 6 ft. tall, beautiful and young 60 yrs old Sexy Senior Citizen.  “Ain’t nobody got time” for all that negativity stress in they life no more!  Imma go back on You Tube and play GROOVIN by WAR, that I told my Navy sisters to get they party started the day before the Ship came in.  My Drs. hollow out loud and said:  Carrie I have to use that line “Sexy Senior Citizen GROOVIN”!   lol

Did anyone else get an email saying that coach sheila is now a member of the USS Harry S. Truman? I saw it on my email but not on the Truman page...hmmm. Coach Sheila-I'm confused! Now I'm concerned about something weird going on.

Carrie-Your happiness is infectious, you always make me smile. Glad all is well with you, Happy national day of prayer to you too.

  • pschip

No problem onlyson  glad i had it.

Carrie glad all is well. Now leave that stress and get your grove on girl.

My son Eric is on the rd to norfolk he didn't want to leave the morning he just kept putting it of.  So we had dinner about 5 then he got on the rd so he will be driving till about 3am  so i will be praying for safe travel for him and all of the sailors headed back to the ship and for the ones that will be leaving tomorrow headed home to see their loved ones.

  • Coach Shelia

Hello everyone! Sending prayers for everyone getting back to "normal" after deployment. I'm not sure about it either! I was on earlier and it said I needed to be a member to post a comment. So I joined again. LOL I may have got the boot and didn't know it!
  • jbird

Coach- that is odd isn't it? Well now that you're a member I feel like I should say welcome! ha ha! I'm glad it wasn't some kind of bad email from a hacker or something.

Our sailor will be homebound in a couple days, FINALLY!! They've had some long hours on watch. This break is so due.

    Blessings to all!

  • Navymom2

Hello NavyMoms (aka: my sisters) :)  I'm on cloud nine right now because my sailor will be on his way home real soon!!! (wink, wink)  I feel like I'm at the end of my pregnancy again - waiting around for nine, long months for this child of mine to finally show up. So busy getting everything ready for his homecoming here.  I got a burst of energy that I haven't had for these many months.  lol  Experiencing so many feelings that only you all could understand.  Something like holding my breath because I'm going to see him.  I'm sooo emotional right now. Thanks for being here for me.  GOD bless  you all and your families...

  • Navymom2

Ms. Carrie:  So glad you are feeling LOTS better! No more scaring us.  Luv u!

  • Catsmom

YAY Carrie! So happy you are feeling better. It is amazing what stress can do. Praying for you, you keep your sexy senior self stress free!

Navymom2 enjoy your son while he is home! Doing the Happy Dance for you!

Coach Shelia, sounds like a Hmmm moment, maybe they updated and had a glitch in the system, but good to have you back..LOL

Talk to my girl everyday, can't wait till she comes home. She is taking care of buss is, getting back to her life. Making sure that loser soon to be ex husband will get his.

Have a good day and wonderful weekend everyone.
  • pschip

Catsmom  I'm feeling better thanks for asking  the best medicine was having my sailor home.

How is your daughter doing? She has a lot of moms that love her and are praying for her.

Talked to son this morning he made it back to ship.

For everyone who has your sailors coming home have a wonderful time with them.  Everyone have a great day.

  • Carol Ann

Carrie: So Happy you are A-OK! Stress does do some weird things to a person! I think we all had ourselves worked up to a fever pitch with the Homecoming and that was probably the icing on the cake so to speak! Of course we are ALL sexy Truman Moms! lol Glad you gave the Dr. a good laugh! For those of you celebrating with Homecoming parties this weekend with your sailors-enjoy, enjoy! My son stood his last watch yesterday on board the Truman and today's his last day! Noticed he was on FACEBOOK last night and spoke in German: Scheisse, es gibt immer noch viel Bier in deiser Flasche, ich muss mehr heute Abend trinken, aber es ist mir egal, Morgen ist mein letztes Tag bei USS Harry S. Truman!  You will all have to look that one up and translate it! Apparently he was starting to celebrate a little early! He speaks fluent German by the way. So with that said I am sure he will be home SOON and his Navy days will be officially over. This leaves me feeling somewhat bittersweet! I guess I too shall miss the Navy and the Truman and all you wonderful people I have met as a result of his service to our country for 6 years. I have made a complete turn-around with this experience. From me trying to talk him out of this as I guess I am a complete dove when it comes to the military and wars and such. I now have come away from this experience with such an appreciation for the military and the people who have served in it. I never really understood it all til I experienced it firsthand. I grew up during the Vietnam era and had older brothers who just missed the draft, along with my husband. I was against that war. Never really appreciated it til some friends of mine who fought in it explained what all they went through to serve & back then they had no choice. Now they do. I now have such respect and admiration for those who serve. I have nephews who have served, my son's friends, etc. Some of those experiences have been good and some bad. My own father who would talk fondly of serving in the Korean War on the Mighty Mo. He manned the radar on the ship. He was stationed in Norfolk and went to boot camp at Great Lakes. I have often in the last 6 years thought about how PROUD he would have been of his namesake serving in the Navy also and following somewhat in his footsteps and what conversations they could have had about all this.Anyhow I am just rambling on about it all. Wonder how my son is feeling himself after 6 years? This will be a transition for him from military life to college. I know he will be able to do it though and do it well. Oh Coach Sheila, about that. I would check into it. There has been some hacking of emails and FACEBOOK pages where people are asked to like new profiles of the same person. Then all your info is hacked. I would have the administrators check into this to be on the safe side. Take care ladies and have a great day and weekend of celebrating ahead!

  • Carol Ann

pschip: Glad you are doing better! Glad you posted.

  • Carol Ann

catsmom: Hang in there! I am still angry that your soon to be ex son-in-law treated your daughter so poorly. My own daughter is going through a divorce because her husband was a real case! he physically abused my grandson and had controlling issues with them all. His father was abusive towards him and he thinks this is normal behavior as it's all he has known. Good riddance to him! Thank God my daughter caught him in the act hurting my grandson before he got too violent and seriously hurt him!  He will undergo counseling and they all will get through this together. She gave him the boot and is gonna fight this tooth and nail and trying to press charges so no one else's children will be hurt by this man! Still so very angry about this! My grandson is quite happy now with him out of the house. Hate to have our children and grandchildren be in pain! We all want the best for them. I am sure my son being home with help his sister and her family heal too. his getting out couldn't have happened at a better time!

  • Coach Shelia

Hello everyone! My son arrived home for leave last Friday at 2030...then went to see the Amazing Spider-Man 2 @ 2250!  He talks with military time!  LOL That time is past my bedtime, but I was so excited to hang out! So overjoyed to celebrate this  Sunday(Mother's Day) and his 21st Birthday on the same day this year! My Triple Crown Blessings this time last year were his PIR Friday, his birthday Saturday, and Mother's day Sunday! Hope you're all doing well!

  • Carol Ann

Coach Sheila: happy for you to finally get leave time with your son! Enjoy this special time together and the celebrations you will have this weekend with him. Cindy: What does your son do on the ship? Is he a "Nuke" or work in another dept.? Just curious. I would be curious what his last name is so I can also ask my son but don't want you to mention it on here. I wish we could all be together with our sons or daughters somewhere at the same time and go over who does what and who knows who. It would be so interesting. I know several of you got to meet in Norfolk at the Homecoming and that must have been fun. Wish I could have been there myself but no point in spending the money. I did watch the live web though at my office and had several co-workers watch with me too-several of us were in tears. so exciting!

  • Catsmom

    Hi everyone.
YAY. Cindy and Coach Shelia! I know you will have fun with your sons! Happy Dancing for you!

Thanks Carol Ann, I am sorry about your daughter too! What is with theses guys? Well at least our girls will become stronger, and be more cautious the next time they get involved with someone.
Crystal is doing better, wants to get him out of he life forever! (((((HUGS)))) To your girl and you.

Crystal will be coming home on the 17 th of this month, assuming her leave is approved. Can't wait! She needs some time home with her family, and long time friends.

I have been playing boss at work, so have been getting up at 3:30am. Haven't been staying away from here, just been really tired..LOL

For those of you who missed homecoming, or maybe even for those who were there, All Hands Magazine has finally published the story I helped produce about the event.

  • Coach Shelia

Good morning everyone! Sending prayers and well wishes to you all today and forever! I think of all the beautiful lives we created to become the Sailors serving Our Country. My heart swells for each of you! Have a Blessed Mother's Day!

  • Carol Ann

CatsMom: Thank you. We want our children to be happy and when it doesn't work out it's so hard to stand by and watch them be in pain. I know you are there for your daughter just like I am for mine. They will get through this and both be stronger for it.

SailorFor Life: loved it! so cool. Thanks for sharing! I have passed this on to my husband and daughter to see and some close friends of mine to enjoy too.

Coach Sheila: What a lovely little prayer. I was thinking it seems that most of us (if not all) are praying people. How special a group we all are because of this!

Ladies Have a great day, weekend and Happy Mother's Day! I think we all have earned our stripes this year! lol

Good morn/afternoon/evening Navy Sisters!  Happy belated Mother's Day to all, I haven't forgotten you -- I read all comment on my Smartphone.  My laptop was being services in shop.  I never stop including my sisters, sailors and special prayers requests in my prayers.

Catmom...I'm doing fine and thanks for asking about me.  I’m praying!

PS:  My Grand-daughter and Her Husband are expecting Identical Twins at the end of the year, not one but double fun!  My first great-grand's, I bet you those two little jokers can run, Imma be hitting the gym and the tracks, Big Mama don't let kids out-run her!!!  Lol

  • carrie

dragon7.....you know you are wrong!  :)  Heeheehee, lol!  You had me rolling when I saw your KARMA pic and I thought about my late aunt.  When I was married having problems, my aunt only met my ex-hub one time and she told me:  "Baby, Ooh you don't have to worry about his A.., because every DOG has his day and believe me he's a D... good DOG, so he has two days coming"!!!   She said mark my words, she might be dead and gone, but I will said Aunt was RIGHT!   And she was very RIGHT and to this day he's still catching HELL!!!!  (I've been divorced for 17th yrs. kids grow and I'm doing what I want to do)   ;)   The adage goes:  "What goes around comes back around; worse than what you ditch out"  We have to treat people right (get good Karma) or very bad Karma!   I'm jus saying!  Too, too FUNNY........ Peace & Love

  • carrie

Cheer Up All Concern, Its not your fault and its LIFE!!!!  Hollywood, Talk Shows, Singers, TV Stars, Rich & Poor mostly everybody breaking-up!  (one person trash is another person Treasure)

And It’s not uncommon for these break-up for our military families returning from Deployment, they get married for all the wrong reason in the first place.  And anybody that wears a Uniform especially (All Law Enforcement Agencies and All Military Armed Forces) needs to be extra careful, because they are women and men out here looking for excellent benefits and a stability income!  I'm a Law Enforcement MOM, Navy Mom and College Student Mom and my kids know the deal but when they make their own mistakes, they tell me sometimes-- "they learned the lesson the hard way on they own and will clean it up!  All three of my kids know I really struggle with them has a single parent while dad was MIA (missing in actions), deadbeat.  My name is: "Bend It" cause "I Ain’t In IT"!!!!   Tough Love   ;)   The kids now days don't listen.   LOVE yourself and wait on GOD for the RIGHT Spouses--- if you need to be married!   Otherwise, live your own precious life and be HAPPY!!!!   And don’t forget to take everything to GOD in Prayers!  I’m just saying!  Its Spring/Summertime and a Great Big World out there.  Ask GOD for Divine Guidance's in your LIFE and stay Focus!  Peace & Love

  • pam

Hi Ladies,  haven't been on much since homecoming but think of you all often.   Happy Friday!!!!

  • Carol Ann

Carrie: Congrats on the twins! Wow! So much work! My daughter has a good friend who has triplets and they just turned 4. Two boys and a girl. My nephews are twins and when they were NB my sister-in-law went bk to work when they were only 3 wks old. my oldest was 2, and she had 2 other children 5 and 7 and I was the sitter. Talk about busy!

You are so right about the military and the spouses of law enforcement, firefighters having hard time with their marriages and making them last. Lots of stress and time away from one another only add to that mix. I personally know of a few who were in those lines of work and divorced.

For ANYONE to stay married is a difficult thing in this day and age. Something you have to keep working at constantly!

Literally counting down the days til my baby is out and home for good! Cannot wait!

  • too tall Joan

    Carrie congrats on the twins.

Just found out last weekend that my son and his girlfriend (not my sailor) are expecting my first grandchild.

Today is my 27th anniversary. Marriage definitely takes lots of work, forgiveness, communication, commitment, and prayer.
  • Carol Ann

Too tall: Congratulations! Nothing like grandchildren! I love my two to death! Figured it will be a while til I see any more. My daughter says she's done and my son was married to the Navy. Now that he will be back in civilian life here soon who knows what he will do....

  • Catsmom

Too tall Joan, Happy dancing for you! How exciting! Is this your first grand child?
Happy Anniversary too! Lots to celebrate!

Carol Ann, YAY! Happy dancing for you too! So exciting to have him home for good! Have a big party to celebrate!

Carrie, Congrats, Twins how fun! You go girl, I know you will give them a run for their money!

Crystal will be home on Monday! So excited! Going to give her the Happy Homecoming she was robbed of! She has a Navy Layer for her divorce, he said he is going to nail that scum bag to the wall! hehehe..
  • Coach Shelia

Hello everyone! Catsmom...sending prayers for your daughter! She inherited her strength from you! I had a great visit with my son! It's weird since he left home for bootcamp, after everytime I've seen him, I'm numb for several days. Am I the only one who feels like that? LOL He is doing so well! He's grown up and I can't stop smiling with pride! Take care everyone!
  • Navymom2

Good morning NAVY Sister Moms.  Sending you all blessings on this Sunday.

Coach Shelia:  No - you are not alone in feeling that way.  I think we all go thru "something" when our children say goodbye.  It's the MOM in us... My new friend, an USMC mom tells me it gets easier.  Her husband is a retired Air Force pilot and now BOTH her sons are Marines. I guess it's a process we all have to go thru. I always think of what  GrandmaBarb would say at times like this. :)  Hang in there!

  • carrie

GM, Navy sister!  Carol Ann, Too Tall Joan, Catsmom and if I left somebody out, Thanks for Congrats on me expecting my great-grand Twins.  Grand-daughter will be moving down here in Atlanta which is where she first met her hubby at.  He has plenty of families here (Twins will be the first everything for both side the families) also, and my grand-daughter Mom told me I won’t be having all this fun by myself (she going to uprooting her hold-house and relocate to Atlanta, she will get her a house here.  So, I can have some more company in Georgia.  Lol Twins will be her first grand’s.)  So, she will have plenty of help and all of the families and friends are just ecstatic with so much JOY!

Too Tall Joan:   Congrats on your expecting the first grandbaby and Happy belated (WOW) 27th wedding anniversary to you and hubby!   I thought about the fire fighters after I hit the send key, also don’t leave out the Bus/Rail Drivers, Doctors/Nurses their Divorce’s rate are also high.

And the poor kids always suffer because of a bad spilt!  Hey that’s Life, my kids and I had to deal with that crap, but thank GOD we made it through the tough time with a lot of people jumping in to help me.  (This is one of the reason, why I “pay it forward” helping-out whoever GOD lead me to help out one way or another).  Sometimes, my kids don’t do right by me because they act like their Dad (selfless and arrogant), but that’s between Karma and them.  I’ve done my part, and GOD just keep on Blessing me!  I just always try to do the right things in GOD sight, that’s who I’m afraid of.  Lol   Have a Bless Week Sisters!   Peace and Love
