Just wanted to introduce myself since my original BC group has slowed down. My name is Lindsey and I am from Maryland. My hubby is in Port H for A school. He is currently waiting to actually start class. As always I am looking for new people to connect with!
Let me tell you what I tell all Navy wives I meet... you can't plan a baby and everything happens for a reason at the right time. Me and my husband found out we were having Rebecca when he was on his first deployment. We were not even married.. didn't even know if we wanted to get married... didn't even know if we loved each other or if we were even meant to be together because at the time we wasn't we were more friends then a relationship. After a while we talked and talked everyday and we decided that she neeaded two parents and a family. Some how between then and when he came home.. we were in love. Two months before he came home I got my engagement ring in the mail... and he proposed over the phone ( not very romantic lol) I was 9 months pregnant when he got home and a week before the baby was due we got married.. two days before the baby came he moved everything in to an apartment by himself so we would have a place to come home to with the baby... and you know he has been taking care of us ever since... and now only 9 short months of being home with 3 different 20 day trainings in their which makes it more like 6 months of being home he is gone again. He really wanted to see Rebecca first steps but he is not going to be able too. It breaks my heart so bad.. he wasn't suppose to leave till august and out of nowhere it got moved up 3 months early. I'm very lucky though... I have a wonderful husband and baby :) no matter how crazy it came about... lol
Hello group,
I am a proud Navy wife, hubby just got home from a year in Bahrain!! Kids were so excited to see him. We have two a daughter who is 4, and a son soon to be 2. I had an interesting time taking care of two small kids (son was only 9 months old when he left) and daughter is such a daddy''s girl. I was lucky in having other military wives to offer support and some time to my self once in a while. Please feel me to contact me if you want to chat.
Hi everyone. IDK if this group is still active or not. I just joined this site. We've been in Virginia Beach, VA for about a year, married since May, and my hubby just left for Iraq. How is everyone else doing? =)
I see a lot of people are coming to Gulfport and I just wanted to say that Gulfport, MS is one of the best places to be! I have lived here my entire life and except for a hurricane or two you can't beat it... it's boring sometimes, but the people are pretty great. I can't imagine moving anywhere else... we are actually going to buy a house soon when my hubs gets home from deployment :) We don't live on base because well I really don't want to but living out in town is nice!
Okay, I have a small rant that I'm sure some of y'all will appreciate: Does anyone else ever get tired of reading stuff that other Navy wives/girlfriends/moms post where they ALWAYS talk about ships and stuff on the ships? I KNOW we're talking Navy here but sometimes I get annoyed with it. Or when people argue with me when I tell them my husband isn't on a ship. "Are you sure he's in the Navy?" Um, pretty sure! They've even asked him the same question! Okay, little rant over! haha Figured some of y'all might feel the same way, sometimes. =)
anyone have a significant other heading to A school in Port Hueneme this week? or does someone know of a group for seabees/a school in port hueneme, california? thanks!
Im new to this site, but my husband is stationed with 5 in port hueneme, CA and I was just wondering if there was any other wives who get together now and then or if anyone is interested in making plans for things like a girls movie night, or drinks and dinner, the gym.... I was just so bored and alone on his last deployment I really want this one to be different.
Hi Seabee wives! Just stopping in to let you know about an N4M group for anyone who may have a move coming up and has questions about moving/Permanent Change of Station (PCS'ing). Here's the link to the group: N4M PCSing/Moving
Hello ladies my name is Vonecia and my husband is a soon to be seabee he will be a SW ... His PIR date is 9/30, so in about a week in a half. im new to the whole military situation. I really dont know what to expect after A school... any advice would help ladies
my husband in is RTC, he arrived there on Nov 2. When he graduates he will go to Texas for a school then be a UT in the SeaBees. Just looking for ladies that have been here:)
You can expect deployments, I'm not sure what the rotation for them is anymore since my hubby is on shore duty right now but one of the other Seabee wives can probably inform you of that. Fortunately Ive heard that they aren't sending people to the dangerous places anymore, but i don't know if that is definite or just hearsay. There is a 3-4 week field exercise to prepare them for deployment. It is a hard job to be a wife of an active duty service member, a lot of wives struggle because in many cases the Navy comes first. Active duty Seabees are stationed in 3 locations for sea duty, either Port Hueneme California, Gulfport Mississippi or Little Creek Virginia. Few more options for shore duty.
Pretty much Live everyday like he will deploy tomorrow. It's hard to think of what to expect i don't remember what it was like earlier in my Seabees career, hehe, if you have specific questions i can try and answer them. :-)
