That's good navy mom I guess it must be pretty good my SR said it was like when she was in college but you have to watch how much you eat so you don't gain weight
Hello and gm, I don't know who posted the video on BS, but TY! Just watched it and now I know a little hit more about what my SR will be going through. I just don't know when. Can't wait to see PIR!
Proud ⚓️ Mom
Navy mom, sounds better than what I'm doing today. I'm still trying to find a coat. Just a medium weight one. You'd think it being middle of Jan. it wouldn't be so hard. But according to a sales clerk last night, you know they just aren't making them anymore due to global warming. YES! She actually said that!!! ROFL
Renee I don't no where you live but Burlington has some just right weather coats my son lives in the suburbs if Chicago and he says the freezing part has past so far it's been trying to warm up
I've been to 3 diff ones coachjb, they have maybe half a rack of coats and the rest is other stuff. I used to go there all the time when we lived in MI. It's changed a ton.
I'd LIKE to sympathize with all of you who don't have a winter coat, but being from NE Ohio, I can't. I have plenty of warm coats. I can bring you one! We get some pretty nasty weather here. This winter the weather has been exactly the same as Chicago so far. Actually this week is fairly warm - 40's - 30's. Don't know about next week...
Well, we were at PIR on the first week in Feb back in 2010, and the temps were in the teens at night/20's during the day, with some flurries. Was pretty cold to this S FL gal! So not so sure that they are "done with freezing weather" up there!
I ordered my coat online through Sears back then...got a good deal on it...haven't worn it since though...just don't get that kind of weather down here!
coachjb: BattleStations for all divisions most likely won't be until PIR week. Although they normally start them late the week before PIR week, they haven't been doing that these past few weeks. They have been doing them during PIR week, even the large PIR groups. So I'm sure your SR was referring to the final PFA, not BattleStations.
http://www.finao4us.com/. Here is the web site to a transportation company that's reasonable let me no if you can't reach them I am reserved for the 27th I don't no where you guys are flying from but Spirit has the best rates
coachjb: IT is actually punishment for them....if they mess up, they get IT, which would mean anything from bear crawls, to push ups, etc. So I think she must have meant the PFA (fitness test). Seems awfully early for her division to have already done it? They should have done it twice by now, but thinking that maybe the final one is this week? Maybe that final one is what she is referring to, and she said she is graduating because she passed the 2 before this one and knows she should pass the final one too.
Thank you about them selling coffee and you can bring food in - we will bring breakfast with us from the hotel. Trying to think things out
Also enjoyed the battle stations video! This is a great group!
Good Morning - getting closer! So exciting! Not hearing my sons voice since January 1st I can't wait for graduation! Prayers the weather cooperates with all of us! Can't wait to meet everyone at meet and greet!
Today no letters would be received because it is Martin Luther King Day, a federal holiday...
The last day you should mail out your letters should be the Friday or Saturday of the weekend just prior to PIR, which would be January 23rd or 24th for this group~~
Matsmon96- yes The meet and greet is for everyone and there is no cost to you. If you would like to help offset the cost to Sarge, you can make a donation that night or you can bring a basket of goodies from your part of the country to be auctioned off. On the left side of this page under "Events," you can RSVP so they will know how many are coming.
Scroll down to the bottom and find your PIR. At the end of it will be a link that says "Get gate pass".
Remember to type it in in ALL CAPS. Their is a troubleshooting link avaikab the if you have problems with it. The most common one though is that you may need to use a different browser. IE is not very DoD friendly at all I notice.
The Password you use is confidential between you and your Recruit. Do not share it with anyone. RTC is a closed base and you must have a pass to be allowed to drive your vehicle onto base. DoD stickers from other bases will not work.
If you are taking a shuttle and walking onboard for PIR you do not need the VGP. However, if you plan on driving your new Sailor back and dropping him off inside RTC you will need it.
Thanks A Navy Mom parade went well weather was about 70 had to take pics with all the politicians that was going up for reelection that was a bummer but it was nice barqued afterwards so the day went well
Renee
I haven't read anywhere about them selling food at PIR.
My SR said in his last letter that he was ready for some "real food". LOL

A navy mom: 3rd PFA is the last one, and they MUST pass that one to do BattleStations. It should be this week for most divisions, if not all of them.
