"I'm a sailor" call came in at 3 P.M. today.  So happy to hear his voice.  He was also able to call his girlfriend, and both sets of grandparents.  Everyone is thrilled to have heard from him.  Leaving tomorrow for the drive!  We won't get there in time for meet and greet, but I get to see my sailor on FRIDAY!!

  • diannep

Safe Travel!  Enjoy the MeetandGreet tonight!  Be early to PIR tomorrow....

Hint:  For those driving:  Stay to the left on Buckley, main drag to RTC.  Car line on the right (they line up EARLY....gates open at 6:30).  Drive past RTC and turn around at the train station right past it.  Head back from the opposite direction.  Easy left turn onto RTC!

  • diannep

    Good Morning!

Also, congrats to the new sailors of 081-084!

  • coachjb12003

Thanks diannep and don't forget your pass if you are driving
  • momof4(14/176)

can someone tell me where to get the link for the gate pass for graduation?

  • FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW

momof4(14/176) - Here is the link:

Vehicle Gate Pass-RTC SITE Upcoming Graduations

Click on the above and it will take you to the upcoming Graduations Page on the RTC website.

Scroll down and find this PIR.

At the end is the link that says "Get gate pass".

    Click that.

Remember to enter your Confidential Password in ALL CAPS.

If you have trouble there is a troubleshooting link on the Gate Pass access page.

Usually, switching to another browser like Firefox or Chrome does the trick (IE is not very military website friendly).

  • FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW

Congratulations to all the new Sailors!

  • FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW

    Safe travels to everyone :-)

  • CatMom509

    Greetings!

         "The Lord is your keeper;

the Lord is your shade at your right hand.

The sun shall not strike you by day,

           nor the moon by night."

                                                    Psalm 121:5-6

  • HisHeartBeat

That is my favorite Psalm CatMom. That was the last scripture I sent to my husband. I'm still waiting with my phone in my hand for a status change.
  • Renee

Div 81, still waiting for a call as well.

  • Renee

I believe they had PIR practice today as well. That may be delaying the calls a bit.

  • dawnd

Renee, just wondering what security info. Could they be missing this late in the game. I would have thought everything would be done by now.
  • Renee

Dawnd, he needed a couple more refrences. At the begining of the month he called for the same thing. Even mu hisband was wondering what the deal was.
  • Future Sailor's Wife

Has anyone received the call from Div 081-084?

  • dawnd

Renee, thats crazy. Whats his rating?

  • Future Sailor's Wife

Can one of the veteran members response?...has this happened before where the call doesn't come in?

  • Mrsjeni

Perfectly said. Gn all; tomorrow's THE day. Yeah⚓️
  • Renee

    Dawnd, he's IT ATF.
  • Renee

Everyone I talke. to at the meet and greet said the same thing,no calls.
  • diannep

No worries if you did not receive the I'm a Sailor calls....as long as you didn't get a call before their BattleStations saying they didn't pass their final tests and wouldn't graduate....you should be fine.  Sounds like they just ran out of time and didn't have time to call.  They would have hit their racks at 8 pm Central tonight after being up since early yesterday morning.  Look forward to seeing your new sailors at PIR!  Congrats!

  • Future Sailor's Wife

Thank you Diannep for the clarification

  • CatMom509

    Gals,

Especially for the ones from places that don't have snow regularly, how was it driving around with snow banks and all?  Were you okay and was it fine to navigate in a different climate?  Thanks for your input!

  • Mrsjeni

It was the scariest thing ever!!!!!
    Proud ⚓️ Mom
  • CatMom509

Lol!  Really?? Glad you are back home safe, Mrsjeni!

  • Renee

If you've never driven in blizzard conditions, don't! LOL seriously though, the weather was fine until Saturday night when the storm started coming through. From the reports I've heard it was the fith largest storm recorded for the area and Sunday was the snowiest day on record for Chicago. So while others may have to drive in some snow for upcoming PIRs it shouldn't be anywhere near as bad. We drove over to MI Sunday and the roads were crazy from the hotel to our destination. What should have been a 4 hr drive took us just over 8 hrs.

  • Renee

Oh, when we got there Wed there was snow on the ground but the roads were totally clear. They do a good job keeping things cleared.

  • CatMom509

    Renee,

Glad you got around and home safely!!!  I've have never driven while it is actually snowing or a blizzard and was happy that didn't happen while I was out and about in Great Lakes!!

  • diannep

Leaving this group now.....blessings to your new sailors!
