Hello! My son just wrote and told me that there was another guy from Oregon. How funny that we are so close! I knew he had left MEPS with about 5 people but didn't know if any had ended up in theunit or not. I'm going to the PIR and staying at the Ramada also. It has the shuttle and just seemed easier. Haven't made the flight plans yet cause I'm waiting to see if anyone else can go with me. What a small world!! My son has had pretty good things to say except he's getting really frustrated with the guys who won't help out and work as a team. He really likes the RCDs and says they are good guys. That's good to hear because the Drills can't make life really miserable if they want to. Welcome to the group. I'll see you in Chicago!!

Yes!!! Come H*** or highwater I'm going!!! I'm just afraid of traveling and from having grown up in small towns in North-Eastern Oregon. Salem is growing on me. but Portland still scares me :) My husband is staying home with our 3 other children. He's been through is before and been to numerous graduations so he told me to go.

Are you in Education also? We are enjoying Spring Break too, but I'm ready to go back to work time goes faster there :)

I'm the Librarian/ recess duty/ crossing guard at Brush College Elem. I keep very busy at school and have a great support team there. I'm planning on getting the plane tickets after I hear how hell week went. I've already made the hotel reservations. So at this point I don't know if I'll make it to the meet and greet yet. I just can't wait to see my boy
(just like everyone else) and see the changes in him.

Number one the money, two I figure if he can make it through that week he'll be fine. He's really good at hands on learning, he's been working at his Grandpa's mechanic shop since he was 14, knows how to weld and has done construction. A very good and hard worker. But book learning is not his thing, so I worry about him memorizing everything they have to do. I will see if I can book on your flight that would be fun and also nice to know someone at PIR. My son is 19 but an old soul-kids his age drive him crazy. I think because he is a worker and not a video gamer like so many these days. His name is Marty Clark. I'm SO sorry to hear about all your losses. It amazing that your son will start over and try again. Good for him!! The Navy will help him to grow further as a person and help give purpose in his life. I gotta go my husband is getting mad cause we just got back into town and I've been on the computer :) Talk to ya soon Tami
