A little about me:
I am a single mother of four children, 8, 14, 24, & 26. it is my second oldest daught who has decided joining the Navy would be the best experience for her. My children, I have spoiled and they have spoiled me just by being the most beautiful children God could have blessed me with. This experience is hard for myself and my children because we have never been apart or had a great amount of distance between us where I could not reach them with a 30 to 45 minute time frame. I feel a little bit of relief because I have to believe God is keeping her safe physically and mentally. In knowing the type of person she is and the strength she has, helps me to endure her absence. My children are my strength under God, of course, so I have to show them I can make it and stay strong for them.

When I heard “Navy,” I...
Needed to learn more about it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
I just learned of this group from my daughter. She told me after enlisting in the Navy but for some reason, I waited until now to check it out. I guess I was hoping she would change her mind about joining. She is the second oldest out of four children and in her 24 yrs, we have never really been apart or had a great deal of distance between us. So the distance is hard, very hard, as well as not being able to call her or see her whenever I want to. My daughter is very strong willed and strong minded. She has gotten me through some very tough situation just by her no nonsense attitude. She is straight forward and always tells it like it is, so in knowing this about her, I do believe she will be just fine and will succeed through her boot camp experience.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
