A little about me:
I am a single mom of three grown boys. I am currently unemployed and going back to school. My life is now changing daily with all the new trials that are presenting themselves. I pray that the choice that my youngest son has made will be all the he expects, but I fear that it will be more than he expected. I love my boys very much and they have been my whole life up until now. Along with all the positive changes comes great fear.
I am here to support my

That even though they are away from home, they know where home is and they will never forget that. I appreciate my son, and I know that he appreciates me more.

Thanks Jessica for you support. I saw all the bad things written about Kayleigh, nothing about Gloria after I had excepted them as friends. I was just excited to have someone contact me so soon after I had joined. My son is on the delayed entry and really has not been assigned to a job yet. He is holding out for Corpsman and I am having a very, very hard time dealing with my emotions regarding his choice. That job gaurantees that he will be on the front lines doing just what the Marines do until someone needs help. He is my baby, and I had to say my favorite, because you are not supposed to have those. He has been my rock and my support since his father and I divorced many years ago. Always there for me, and he told me that he felt that way about me being there for him. But since his decision I just can't support it. All I do is cry everytime I thnk about where he is going to be and the nightmares have been horrible. I am lost and don't know what to do. Thank you for listening.

Join the New Moms Stop Here group. You'll feel a lot better soon - even if you don't right away - you'll know you are in good company with others who are feeling the same way. So, so it ASAP OK? You'll have to learn to keep it together for him, when he is around. When you are with us -other Navy moms, you can let it all out.

Thank you so very much for checking up on me Angie, sorry, things are so crazy....My son and I are doing better. At least we are now talking. I have been reading messages on the site, but with school it has been hard to have the time to reply. My son signed on for an eight year contract, he is going in as an apprentice. The Corpsman position was not going to be available to him for almost two years. 2011 was filled, and then he was going to be waiting again for another year to go out. So he took what he could. I was expecting that he was not leaving until April 6th, but when I came home yesterday from school to wish him Happy Birthday, he informed me that his recruiter told him that there was a possiblity that he would be leaving next week. My heart sank, we were just repairing things and now he could be leaving. Last night he came back from his DEPS meeting, (I didn't go this time) and said that they would not know until Tuesday. Oh my God, I don't know if I can do this wiithout falling apart. It was happening to fast as it was, but now this. I told him that I would be there at his graduation. He was even thinking about my school and said that it would be better for him to go now because then I wouldn't be missing school to come see him graduate. If he left later that could cause problems. I assured him that he was much more important than school, and no matter what that I was going to be there. I want to show him that I am working hard to try and support him the best that I can..He told me that he knew that, and I could see a very proud smile on his face as I told him that..

See the three samples below. Use the one you like. Two WORD files are attached.
    Heartluvin_howtopostwelcoming.doc
    Heartluvin_welcoming.doc
  • BunkerQB

the file Heartluvin_welcoming.doc contains three pages. The first page contain the CODE for the first sample below. All the funny stuff with "<" and ">" is part of the html code or editing code. After you paste the code on the comment box and hit "Add Comment" the message will come looking like the one below. Remember NOT to copy the line I had inserted to separate the three messages. You see the editing commands above the comment box? (B I U S etc.) The commands are Bold, Italic, Underlined, Strikethrough, add hyperlink, add photo and add file. Normally when you want to make the text bold, highlight the text, then click on the B on the editing command. What I have done is set it all up in a comment box, then copy and paste it to a file for convenience of repeating the task.
GO AHEAD AND TRY IT. IT WILL LOOK LIKE THE ONE BELOW.

Here is a new file with just the message with the Hello (w hearts). When you click on members, the first page of the members contain the ones who joined MOST recently, so page 2 represents the ones before page 1, etc. So start with the first page, then go to page 2. Hopefully, the Abby and I can get the one prior to the weekend done before you get on on Sat/Sun. Each person should be doing 1 - 2 pages depending on how many people join that day. I thought perhaps with mother's day, you might be too busy. Next weekend, I won't do any. I'll tell abby you like her Hellos (but they take up a lot of characters leaving very few for the text stuff.

The new members, even the technically savvy ones, all just need to know that they have a friend in their corner. For most of them, it is the first time that their son/daughter has been away from home for any given length of time. Knowing that we have real live moms/supporters out there keeping an eye out for them means the world. Thank you for helping us get the message out and being part of the support team - we pay it forward - as the saying goes.

Thank you so much for the leads. After 16 months of Wes's intense training and workouts he is really going to do this. His two week notice will be given soon at work. He is meeting with his recruiter Tuesday for testing and from there?..After his visit to a close friend in SanDiego he has never been more determined for anything. His friend Andrew is a Seal and I have read quite a few of the sends from Andrew and watched the Seal DVD's and am in awe. Hope to be as strong as he is in my heart and head. God Bless.

    Gratefully, Lori
