- I am a mother of a salior on the Big E. He is with the VAW 123 E-2 hawkeye screwtops squadron, aviation mechanic,he works on the flight deck launching and retrieving. My son has been in the navy since 2008. I am very proud of him and what he has accomplished. I miss him very much. We are from Illinois .We rode our motorcycle out to Virginia to go see him this summer.That was great but not long enough.Did not get to see the Big E.
