Hi, I'll let her know, I'm writing to her tomorrow to tell her about my adventurous weekend. I'm still worrying about her. By the way, my name is Deana.
Hey! My hat's off to you in handling such a LARGE PIR group! Not easy! Ok...on the BStations schedule. Keep reminding the ladies on your site to ask their recruits the BStations date for their division. I have asked them to message you, but they may just post it on the board. I know it is hard to follow...but hopefully you will accumulate all of the divisions and the dates each will go. Look at my PIR 8/13/2010 group...and you will see at the top where I posted their BStations schedule. You may not get all divisions as I'm not sure all are represented on your site (moms from each division). Just post the ones you are aware of. I "guessed" at some of them (and had an asterik beside those). Then if it was confirmed, I removed the asterik or changed the date. For some reasons on that group, they elected to have none on Sunday night and go with 4 groups on 2 of the nights, 1 on one night, and 2 on another . Let me know if you have other questions, ok? It's time to really motivate your ladies that they are getting CLOSE to the end! I reminded mine that the Navy "cry" is hooYAH so we would be hooYAHING all over the place on there! Have some fun with it! I started both the 8/6 and 8/13 groups and loved it...but it kept me very busy! Please ask me questions as you need to. My son PIRed in Feb, graduated A School in April, and is stationed now. So hopefully I can help!
You are very welcome and glad you got the coundown clock! Mine is still counting down on the 8/6 group...don't know how to stop it! :-) 2 BStations dates --- that's a start! I posted them as I got them, hoping it would spur the others on to try to find out about their recruit's divisions.
Hi, yes my daughter is in this ship and division. She wrote about Marlinspike and said they learn to tie knots and resuce sailors overboard. What I wrote on the web site was really all she wrote about Marlinspike. She gave me a run down of their day (in general) that was what I was referring to. If you want the run down I will be glad to oblige!
Well I asked my daughter some ery pointed questions about the day and this is her story.
Getting up in the morning depends on what time they went to sleep. One day last week the RDC woke them at 11pm to iron. Even if they had no ironing they still had to sit next to their irons. Normally they get up between 0400 and 0600. When the instructor his the light switch they have 10 SECONDS to roll out of their racks. They then have 10 minutes to get dressed and make it to the toe line in front of their racks, at attention Once attention is called if anyone moves they get IT'ed, on the spot. (They work out right then and there. Then chow.
After chow they return to their "compartment" again on the toe line til their instroctor yells "pump and dump" which is a bathroom break and that usually lasts 10 minutes. Then they usually have some type of scheduled activity until lunch. It can be class work, hands on work, marching or PT. If they do a work out they must then return to their compartment and take showers or "hygiene". Then lunch. Then more activities.
If they did not work out earlier in the day then they do hygiene after dinner/chow. Then an hour or so for "acadenic studies" in their training guides for tests. One hour before bedtime or "Taps" they "dress down", out of their "NWU's (blue camo uniform)" and pass out any clean laundry. Then to their racks.
Where I have used quotes is where my daughter said was the Navy lingo. So how about them apples!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, it made me feel a little easier having some idea of what they do in a day. When I get home I'll go back over the Marlinspike letter and let you know if there was anything more. If you think anyone else would be interested let me know! I loved all of the navy lingo!
I don't think the 27th (Fri) is right for BStations. I see where someone posted tonight that 294 goes on the 29th. That makes much more sense. Normally there are no Battlesations on Fri night because of Captains Cup the next day. You may want to change the 27trh to the 29th for 293 and 294---brother divisions..
They normally do them Thurs, no Fri, no Sat, then Sun, Mon, Tues, and Wed (if necessary). Your group won't do Wed because of the Thurs PIR. I'm thinking Wed, Thurs, Sun, Mon, Tues for your group. I have a feeling your 900 division will go alone on Mon (8/30)night...they usually do. Very possible that 818 is going on Thurs with the other 2 groups. They may have the rest of the groups on Tues then.
