Joan, I am stressed out. I posted a comment on the site "PIR 8/6. diannep's page. Dianne said that when here son was in Great Lakes Boot Camp, her son was one of those difficult boys. She said that the RDC held him put him in another division and held him back a week. She said that this made him grow up and he learned from it and is a totally grown up and responsible person.

Hello Joan. Stephen and I got the dreaded phone call this Saturday. Brenden did not pass his PFA. Brenden sounded very shaken. Stephen(husband) said that he spoke to Brenden's Chief and he told him that he thought Brenden would pass next time. I don't know if Brenden was moved to another division or when his new PIR date will be.
    I will keep you posted

Hi Joan. From what the Chief said. They are letting Brenden re-take the test. I have a feeling he is going to be taking the PFA test this week. I have been a wreck all week. I have been praying a lot. I mailed him some letters tying to be as upbeat and encouraging as possible. The worst part for me is that I can't talk to him. I am praying that I get a phone call soon saying that he past the test. I figure he must be taking it this week because next week they are going to be very busy.
Take care Joan and thank you for your prayers.
I will let you know what is going on.
    Sincerely
    Sandy

Hey have you forgotten about us in the Central Valley?
  • Sandy's_sailor son

Hello Joan. We had a wonderful time with our son. Saying good-bye was one of the hardest things I have done. We said our good-byes in the church parking lot a long with many other families saying good bye to their sailors. Everybody was crying so I don't feel too much like a wimp.LOL
My son will be going to to "A" School at Great Lakes. I hope he will have a good room mate.
Joan, I noticed that you have joined the Corpsmen Moms and Dads group. Your son picked a good job.
Keep in touch and God Bless.

Hello Joan, My son said that he was going to keep in touch with his ship mates. He mentioned that he wanted to go back and visit Waukegan Harber and go fishing.
Hopefully our boys will keep in touch.

I am sorry we didn't get to meet in Great Lakes. I had a difficult time getting there. We took Frontier Airlines and they were so disorganized, that we missed our flight. Then my 2 children and I had to take a plane to Milwaukee Airport, WI. My husband had to take a plane to Chicago Midway. What a mess. He had to drive to Wisconsin pick us up, then drive to The Ramada Inn. It took us so long to get to the Ramada because my poor husband was so tired from a week of hard work. He slept at a gas station near Chicago Midway Airport for 3 hours before driving to Milwaukee Airport. It only took us 30 to get to the Ramada Inn from Milwaukee Airport. However, by the time we got to the Ramada it was 10pm. We were so tired we just got situated in our hotel room there and fell asleep. I had brought everyone's yellow ribbons in my suitcase but forgot to add the pins to them. (a whole lot of use if you can't attach them to your clothes.)

I am so thankful that I met you on NavyForMoms. I don't know what I would have done without your support. It has been a rough 9 weeks. I feel like I have been through boot camp myself.
    Chat soon,
    Sandy.
