You're welcome. I was in your place just a few weeks ago so I understand the feeling of helplessness. My son in BC is my baby and the last to leave home. He and I are very close so I took his leaving very hard. I think all of us Moms have probably cried an ocean of tears so don't feel like you're alone. We all understand, no feeling you're having is silly or foolish. I cried for the first 2 weeks but believe me, it does get better. Once you receive the "kid in a box" and then the official letter from the Department of the Navy (there will be a short note from your sailor at the end) it will get even easier. Then you'll have his official address and can start sending those letters that you've been writing. I wrote to my son every day, sometimes twice and it was my therapy. Well, that and living on this web site :-) Stay in touch with us, we're all in this together. When you have your PIR date someone will start a group for you. JOIN IT but continue to visit Boot Camp group as well. Regarding the medal, you can't send them anything except letters in BC so if you purchase on, give it to him at PIR as a graduation gift, that's what I'm doing. I picked up my medal today and it's beautiful! So glad someone mentioned it on this site. Take care of yourself.
Hi again,
, My sons name is Scott , he is 18, how old is yours ? yes it is hard to not be able to talk to them when ya want to , I think that is the hardest part, the cant part lol, I am holding up just fine , get a little teared eyed but my husband says STOP lol, My hard part is 4 weeks before Scott left my 27 year old daughter moved to south Carolina for a job so i kinda lost 2 at one time,. It is nice to meet you , and I hope to talk to you again, Hang in there we get closer every day

Hi
My son, Kyle, is in the same division. Hoping to get a letter this week. I too, miss my boy a lot and truley miss his phone calls and popping in at the house. He too, is a great guy, very quiet and I pray he is doing great!. Hope you get word/call this week. Have a great day and have peace that our boys are making a great career for themselves.
YAY! I am so glad you got a call from your son! and for him to be staff with the priest! very proud indeed. my husband said he is a section leader and their division is really pulling together as a team! hopefully the mail gets fixed soon and we get our letters!
No letters yet! Actually, I would love to know he's getting to sleep and not staying up late to write to me....I know he's writing to his wife and that makes me happy! My son is from CA originally and recently from MN. I look forward to meeting all the wonderful moms and wives! Take care!
Hi Martina,
My sons name is scott, he has met navy wifes husband in there , i asked about a few others but they didn't ring a bell, During his phone call he said there are like 85 in his division so he doesn't know everyone, , he too said he will be calling on Tuesday, so again my cell phone will be in my bra lol. what is your sons name ?or husband I get so confused on here sometimes, lol he too said they earned the extra TIME to call on saturday by scoring higher then their brother division on their test said that the division is doing really well, He said that he was having so much fun ,it was easier then he thought and the food is great, even gained a few pounds , which is all I needed to hear to feel better, Said that there has been a problem with their division sending mail out since processing but we should get some this week , but he has gotten every letter we have sent him, he said mail out takes about 4 days , so I am hoping on thursday lol, what else did you find out in your phone call, . please keep in touch

Thank you so much! That is such relief!! I have gathered that they were sent home do to medical issues. That is very disappointing I am sure. Praying our boys make it through. Come on Sept. 17! Thanks again and have a great day. Hope for letters and calls this week. :)
i thought it was funny about the younger recruits not shutting up because Scott said the same thing , not that they were younger but that they just dont know how to be quit and it is pissing him off lol and Scott is probably one of the young ones but has a very old soul lol and he was even upset with the ones that keep talking , he said they will figure it out sooner or later , I don't think i will be at the meet and great because Thursday night my other son graduates from the St Louis police academy at 8 and then i have to drive to Chicago straight from there to be at Scotts graduation in the a, m boy i think i will be pulling an all nighter so just look for the lady who looks like a tired mess lol
Hi, yes he did mention the division is having a hard time coming together with and a lo of it has to do with many not knowing when to be quite and follow directions. But they are getting it together. The letters were amazing cause it was a sign that their mail issue is finally fixed! It is about them, I am just glad to finally hear something.
Hi Martina, I'm sorry I didn't see your message until today - how are you doing? do you want to meet for lunch next week sometime? I put a message out on the MT board to see if we can get a group from this area together, love to chat and share!
Hi
My son is in the same unit and no no calls since last weekend. He did say that he did not know when they would get to call again and that it might be a couple of weeks. Hang in there...no news is good news!
We got a 4 line letter hahah He said he was really busy, missed us, working hard and could not wait until graduation. This coming week is Hell week so he asked us to keep him prayers constantly this week...I do that every week anyway. LOL Have a great day and woohoo we are getting closer!
