Hey Allison's Mom - wanted to welcome you to the AECf group! I see your daughter is still in boot camp, are you holding up okay? I found that bc is usually harder on the families than it is on the recruits as we are just in the dark about what they are doing until those letters start rolling in. It used to be about four weeks into bc, you would find out if they are FCs or ETs but lately - it's been at the end of bootcamp. Regardless of when they find out, both ET and FC is a great rate to get into, they will receive alot of schooling on the front end, automatic advancement to E4 and lots of respect from the fleet. My hubby was an FC for over 10 years and now our son is an FC and is stationed in Hawaii. Please let us know what questions you may have and welcome to the group!
