I'm so glad you wrote, my son's ship out date for bootcamp isn't until June of next yr. but his recruiter is working on getting him shipped out earlier, and he is so ready to go,as I bet your son is as well.This site is all so new to me, so forgive my shortcomings on the navigational end of it. I hope we can keep in touch, are you in Spring Hill?

I have had a busy week, or I would have responded sooner. Well my son passed PT. He's now training at the YMCA to hopfully get into "SWICC" It's a tough program, but it's what his goal is. Glad you wrote, let's keep in touch .

Your Sailor is leaving soon! Congrats! There are some great groups to check out to prepare for the big day, you will also meet great people to talk with and help answer any questions that you have. BunkerBee included some links below to the top groups here on N4M's!

Did you get to Wiregrass over the past week-end? I will be leaving soon for a 2 week vacation, so I've had alot to do in preparation for that. But I'll get back on line when I return. Thank you for keeping in touch.

Today!! OMG... but he'll be fine, I guess we have to just believe that this is what our boys want to do with their lives. A whole new chapter will begin, and we can only pray for them, and know they are doing the right thing, for all the right reasons. I wish him well.
I will be leaving for my trip on Sat.AM. My son is so anxious, and hopes they call him earlier then June 14,2011. Just hope it's NOT while I'm away!! LOL.
Keep me posted, be home by the 9th.

The only difference is prices. If you recieved your form letter they had a price list as well as coupons for discounts on hotels. Personally I would check into the Ramada or the Navy Lounge. Ramada in because of the meet and Greet as well as the Mall and I believe the Navy Lounge is on the base property...or very close to it.

I use photobucket.com you just find the pic you want and them copy and paste the html code in the comment box. (If you dont know html its ok there is a box that gives it to you that says html....its real easy)

Thank you! That does make me feel better...I am nervous enough for him. I don't need the stress of the thoughts of him being sent home on on top of it. The Navy is his whole goal right now...sure don't want him to loose that! Thanks again.

Hotflashes, we are also staying at the Ramada. We are going to try and make the m&g, depends on traffic though, our flight gets into O'hare at 5:07. Cory shipped out on Thurs. the 21st of July. He was supposed to ship on the 19th, but when we got to MEPS, they said his physical had expired by a few days, so he had to go thru medical all over again. He was so mad, but I gotta say, I was happy to have him for a couple more days! LOL! He stayed at mainsail on the 18th, but because of there mess up, his recruiter gave me permission to take him up myself on the 21st. So we went the night before and stayed at the La quinta Inn, which was closer to MEPS. On the 19th MEPS was packed! A lot of parents, and a lot of recruits shipping out. On the 21st, there was not near as many. I can not wait till PIR!! I am so excited! Are you going to the dinner? I am definitely going to that, and hopefully will make the m&g. My hubby is staying home with my 10 year old and his mother. His mom is going thru a rough time, so he does not want to leave her. So, I am going with my sister and my mom. My ex mother-in-law is also meeting us there. I look forward to meeting you! I hope the weather is a little cooler there!
