Hi Karen, wanted to welcome you to the site and the AECF group. It looks like your daughter just left for boot camp...are you holding up okay?? The first couple of weeks are hard on the parents as you just sit in wonder ...are they okay, is the food okay, do they hate it, are they sorry that they joined, etc. etc. but when that first letter arrives you will be pleasant surprised that things are much better than you could hope for! Expect your first letter between the 2nd and 3rd week as they can only write on Sundays and generally you will receive mail from GL on either Wednesday or thursday depending on where you live. Now back to AECF - your daughter is going into a fabulous rate; both ET and FCs are great jobs with lots of schooling on the front end. Expect her to be in GL for a school about a year and then they will move her to another state for C school but she won't know which one until the end of A school. Also she won't know if she is an ET or an FC until boot camp is almost over. My hubby was an FC for 10 + years and now our son is an FC and is stationed in Hawaii. Please let us know what questions that you might have and welcome!
