I was just in GL for son's grad 12/22, and from the little I could see through all that snow, all is well. It's a beautiful base and the recruits are well taken care of.  My son came down with pneumonia and he was taken care of immediately.  Their biggest complaints are getting yelled at (lol), folding clothes, and missing their families and cell phones.  Try, if you can, to go to your daughter's graduation.  It is awesome!  Use this web site as much as you can; it's a life-line and wealth of information. Join groups. My son is now "on hold" at his A School in Pensacola.  He has his phone, just a few roomates, new friends and a little liberty.  The military know what it's doing in turning our babies into fine, young soldiers.
