Hi!--- So glad to meet some other Moms in the same division.  We never received a phone call from our son on Christmas Day--- stayed home All day, just in case!  It was really kinda depressing... by 9:30 pm I gave up waiting--- thinking, there's always Tomorrow...!   I keep hoping we'll get a regular letter from him soon; I also wonder if our sons have even received Any of the letters that We have sent??!  Today is Sunday... so I hope they are getting to read mail... maybe even able to write Us a letter that we so desperately want to receive!

OK, 3 weeks before a call... well, it's better to know that, instead of being on pins & needles another week!  Thanks for the info... I guess getting No call means they are doing alright then... still hard, but I'll keep busy.   Hope you have a good day!   I'm still sending Prayers to our boys, and the families waiting for them!   =)

My son is in same ship/div. We have a discussion group just for us if you want to join! I just got my first "real" letter yesterday, did me a world of good! I am in nc by the way, my name is robin.

Hi, my son is Eric.  What is your son's name?  I have only received one letter so far, he wrote it Christmas Eve.  Seems to be doing well, beyond homesick.  No phone calls yet, though I don't know if his dad has received more than the "made it safe" call.  Apparently he listed his dad as his contact.  They sent me the address but forgot the grad pak information.  I am waiting for a copy.  They did give the date and all.

Have you made your reservations yet?  We don'lt know if we should now or wait til mid Jan.  What if they get sick or for some other reason miss their grad date?

Hope all moms are well.  and that we all get a call soon.

Thank you so much for the information on the train out of Ft. Worth.  When I get home from work I will look into it.  If we fly we fly from DFW.. Might as well take a train from Ft. Worth.

I am praying for all our recruits, I know its hard on them.  Mine is a later starter, he is 24, but this is different from anything he has known.

I found that train from Ft Worth, rental car and hotel for just at $800 for two.  23 hours, but hey I wouln't be doing the driving.  Right now at $800 just for roundtrip and car.

I;;m not Connie, but I googled Texas Eagle and pluggd in the information.  However, using Orbitz to find flight/hotel/car got a deal for $823.  But that was a hotel in Chicago.  Good luck.  We don't know if we can afford it or not.  Property taxes due, cash Christmas, I'm so depressed.
  • TxNavyMom

Its all good.  I'm just hoping we can go, or even just one of us .
  • TxNavyMom

Check Priceline also.  I was able to choose a hotel in Waukegan instead of Chicago and it lowered the total cost for two to under $750.   It will cost more if only one person goes, like $500 instead of $300.  Go figure.  Good luck

It included flight/hotel/car.  Priceline allowed me to look at surroundng areas for hotel, which the other sites didn't
