Hi, my son has been gone for two weeks. I have gotten the form letter and the box but no real letter or call yet. I have been fine but last night watched the battlestation thing on You Tube and that was a mistake. It didn't bother me last night but this morning on my way to work I burst into tears, much to my surprise! It's a big change to have my son gone. I miss him.

I see you joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!!  We are a friendly, caring group of moms always willing to listen and support.  Please feel free to jump in and join our chats!!  We like to discuss everything from our sailors to our jobs, weather, whatever.  It's also a great place if you want to yell, scream, vent, cry - - there is no judgment involved!!!  Brag about your sailor but also tell us when you are hurting because you miss her so!!!  Looking forward to getting to know you and your sailor!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!

You are very welcome.  So as an Air Force family are you aware of the kid in the box?  That's where you get a box in the mail in a few days with all the clothes and things your girl took with her that she can't keep.  Your recruiter should be able to get her address for you in a few days - well before you get her form letter with the address.  Start writing to her now and as soon as you get her address you can send off the letters.  Remember that she will be kept busy while we will all kinds of time on our hands to worry!!!!!  Keep in touch with the support groups because they can really help you when you feel helpless but need to still be supportive to your girl.  It's a roller coaster ride - - hang on tight!!!!

We got the "I am here but cant talk long" call at 11:33 Monday night.  He sounded excited.  I sure hope he gets a little sleep after today.  I know they keep them busy.  I am so excited for Josh and hope he does well.  I know this will be a challenge but our kids but they will do it.  I hope to hear from the recruiter with the address maybe today or tomorrow.  Josh's wife said they will call her and she will let me know the address. I think the PIR may be the last week in April if BC is only 8 weeks instead of 9.  We started looking at flights and will probably book on Southwest and go into Midway airport.  Hope to get the approximate date soon so we can book before the prices go through the roof.  I will look you up on Facebook.  I am Laina Bush Lindsey

 

we would fly out of Orlando and into Midway on SW cheapest i have seen  $94 each way if we leave Thur and come back Monday.  I hope to find out if the PIR is in April that way we can book the flight and change if needed.  I would also have to change my days off for work. so hope to find out this week.

did you get the box today.  I got Joshua's.  I see that there is a group already formed for the ship and division.  I sure hope that they are having a "good time"  I would love to know how they are doing.

My son is located at Ship3, Div.148.  He arrived 2/23. Our box came Wednesday and no letter either. Our recruiter told us the form letter will come around 2 weeks. Hand in there. I have mixed emotins too, one minute I am doing great and the next I am crying my eyes out.

No form letter yet! Thursday will be 2 weeks so everyday I think "This is the day!" We are driving out but want to get our hotel booked and need to request the time off from work. Keep me posted on your letter. Id I here anything I will let you know. Thinking of you.
