Hey! It's not too bad. It's completely different from any other part of the Navy. And their school is long and stressful--you'll really be is support system. But if you have the money, there's lots of opportunities to visit him. :)

You sort of get used to it. haha. That doesn't make it easier, but you just sort of create a new life. Not a life without him, just one where you communicate through phone, computer, and mail, and seeing him becomes a holiday in itself.

KEEP BUSY. Start a journal for him that he can read after boot camp or A school or whenever. Write lots of letters. :) Take pictures to send to him... They say no suggestive pictures, but that's just a chance you take. haha. Pick up extra hours at work, take an extra class or two if you're in college. Take an extra tumbling class (Based on your name... I love cheer!!). Work out more. Do anything to keep from sitting on the couch thinking about him.. That's just torture! haha

Hey Cheergirl! I am doing OK, I thought I would be over the crying stage already, but it comes and goes...seems like I have good days and bad days...what about yourself? It helps a lot to write Max and let him know about my day....I am praying we will get letters from them this coming week...I think the time will start to pass faster now that 2 weeks are already over!!

OMG, I feel exactly the same way!! Max and I are really close as well, before he left we spent every day together, and we tell each other everything too...without him here it seems so empty, and everything during the day makes me think of him! I will see a jar of nutella and it makes me miss him so much! (he loves nutella) or something small like that! I have tried to not center around the mail coming in so much, but I tend to do the same thing, just waiting for any scrap of news...I know it will get better!! I keep telling myself that 8 weeks isn't that long! It seems like forever right now, but as soon as we start getting mail it will be better!

This is the longest Max and I have gone without talking as well...its so hard with him gone! I hope it will get easier, but as soon as we get to "the next step" (like getting the form letter), then I'm worried about getting the next one (like real letters). I have been praying all weekend that I will get a letter this next week, I hope we all do! We have been together for 5 years, and married for 2. In fact, our anniversary is Apr 2! The countdown clock does help, and every day we are a little closer to seeing them. I just miss being a part of his everyday life right now...but I know this is the hardest part. What does your guy want to specialize in?

Yah, I am having a hard time right now because we are waiting on their letters this week. Once I know what day their letters will arrive it will be easier, then we can expect them on the same day every week. I am just praying that Max wrote me! I know I just have to stay positive, but sometimes its really hard. I cry a lot too. I don't think I have ever cried this hard for this long about anything before! That's awesome that your guy got into the nuke program! Wow super cool...Max is undesignated for now, and will be able to do what he really wants once he gets out of bootcamp (he gets his citizenship after bootcamp), and you can only sign up for a few jobs if you arent a citizen yet.

Hey girl, just got my letters today, was so thankful! I got 2 from Max, a total of 5 pages. I cried so hard when I got them, and then reading them I couldn't stop crying. I miss him so much and love him so much, and I'm sure you are feeling the same way too. I can't wait till this is over. I am praying for your aunt, I hope that everything turns out alright, its so hard to deal with issues when your man is away....this is a much smaller issue, but I just had a wisdom tooth out, and started crying because I was sad that Max wasn't there to comfort me. But they are there, and they miss us just as much as we miss them! Max said one of the hardest things about it was missing me. He will find out more about his job in a few weeks it sounds, sounds like its up in the air for now. I hope you get a letter soon!

Oh I'm so glad you got your letters too!!! It totally makes your day, I feel like I can breathe again this week, until next Thursday when I will be looking for another letter!! I am hoping sometime between now and Thurs they will be able to call us...that would be awesome!! So glad you are feeling better! And my mouth is all healed up from the wisdom tooth pull already...its nice because it was an easy one to come out, thank God, so it healed up real quick. Hope your aunt is doing OK! I am really glad we can talk to each other, it really helps me out knowing that your Chris (it was Chris, right?) is in the same div as my Max. So excited for PIR, it will be a great day for all of us!

Im sure it did make your day im so excited for my first letter haha i still have a long way to go but my boyfriend had wrote letters and hid them in my room for me to find which makes my day when i find one! when is PIR for your boyfriend and what is his job? congrats again about your letter!!

I know i have found a few of them i havent read yet just for those days im wishing i had a letter and i dont! Well thats exciting and April 15 will be here before you know it! Jeff is CTI and wont find out the language he learns until later on. I havent heard for sure when his PIR is going to be though it will either be May 6th or 13th. Has he called you while he's been there?

No we havent recieved the form letter yet. CTI stands for cryptologic techhnican interperative. He'll be a linguist. His a school will be pretty long and intense from what we know and just depending on the language he will get to learn will decide how long he will be in a school. A girl I work with said her ex boyfriend was in the navy and earned a couple of phone calls he made to her. I had no idea they could do that! That'd be awesome if you got to hear from him!

well that would be awesome if they could earn phone calls!! I GOT HIS ADDRESS TODAY!! :) may sound stupid but it was just SO exciting to get it. I went straight to the post office and addressed the letters i've wrote him and sent them today! :) His mom and I made plans to go out to dinner tomorrow night which will be good! My week was for sure made today though i've been nothing but smiles! :)

Thanks!! I cant wait for my letters from him! :) That is exactly how I am going to be! I'll go to the post office everyday! It was funny because today I had all the letters I had wrote and didnt get to send because I didnt know his address and I had on a Navy t-shirt. The guy at the post office looked at the mailing address and my shirt and said "well looks like i'll be seeing you tomorrow!" I said "you sure will!" haha I thought that was pretty funny. About how many letters a week do you get or does it just depend? Thats awesome you're close with his family I think thats really important in making a relationship strong! His family is really important to me as well!

I would love to meet up at PIR!! That would be awesome to connect with you, because we have both been going through the same ups and downs of bootcamp at home!! Haha I just got another letter from Max today! 6 pages, and it sounds like things are going really good for them. They are in an all-guys div, and he said there are some cool guys that he gets along with well there, and from time to time its even fun!! Oh he also says he got my letters!!! And loves getting them!! So I bet everybody in the div is getting them too!! And he says they have settled into a routine, so things are a lot better now. He also says the weather has been nice, not cold at all, which is great! Sounds like more letters are coming soon!!

yeah i def know what you mean. Some days are better than others but not much we can do about it other than hang in there! I got my first letter.. well it wasnt actually a letter he wrote at boot camp but he wrote it while he was in meps and sent it home in his box of clothes and other things he brought with him! So i was pretty excited about that other than that i just pretty much write him letters like a crazy person does. everytime i feel lonely or like i wanna talk to him i just sit down and write and write.

Yes it will be the best day ever!! 35 days till graduation now!! I got Max's call yesterday, and he sounds really good, and sounds like things are routine and going very well there, and it sounds like their division is doing AWESOME!!! He said that 2 of their RDC's are really cool, so that's really good, and it sounds like their whole division are Sat departures for A-school. I hope you got a call from your man yesterday, and hope things are going just as good for him!! Sounds like they are since their division is doing so good!!

Hi! Yea, I'm a Nuke wife :) My husband is on t-track right now and he'll start Power School at the end of April. So far, the program hasn't been too bad. My husband is really interested in what he's learning, so he really enjoys it. Some of his friends have a lot of mandatory study hours, and they don't like it as much. For almost all of A-School my husband was on voluntary study hours, so he was actually home quite a bit. Some guys are away from home more, it pretty much just depends on his study hours. It'll be something to get used to at first, especially with the time difference and figuring out kind of a schedule of when you'll be able to talk. We weren't married when he first went there, so we had to do the long distance thing for a few months. But once you get used to it it's not all that bad :)

Oh sorry, I completely forgot to answer that! Yea, after each school they have the option to take 10 days leave. As long as they have enough leave days saved up, I think they earn like 2 1/2 days each month or something like that. For example, my husband and I went home over Christmas stand down and he used all his leave days. And then he graduated A-School Feb 4th, so he didn't take any leave.

Yah things are getting better and better as the time goes on....thank God!! I can't wait until we get to go for graduation!! I'm pretty sure their whole division leaves on Saturday, but it probably depends what A-school they are headed to as to what time they will leave. But if your guy isn't staying in GL, I think you can wait with him at the airport until his flight leaves...so that's nice!! Mine is staying at GL, so I'm really thankful. How have you been lately? I hope well!! I got letters again today, its so nice to be hearing from them more often...oh yah and Max said their div got a flag for such good scores on their last academic test! GO 132!!!

Hey girl, everything is good here, but you took the words right out of my mouth when you said you still have hard days and good days...I also thought I would have grown out of that now that we are more than halfway done, but I still have days where I am depressed and can't stop crying...can't wait till this is over!! I hope you get a letter today, and I hope I get one too!! Its so much better now that we have some contact with them. I was wondering, have you made reservations for PIR stuff yet? I just made hotel reservations at the Ramada, and am flying with Southwest into the Midway airport. I am also getting a rental...what about you? Also, what are you wearing to PIR? I want to wear a dress but then I think maybe just a nice top with skinny jeans, or maybe a skirt? I dont know...let me know what you are thinking about this!!

Oh I can't wait till these days are over, either!! That's awesome you are staying with his parents, that makes it really nice to have them there, I bet. I have heard the Residence Inn is really nice! Oh gosh, I have no idea what the weather will be like either! Or what to wear! I have a really cute tube dress that is fairly long, but is strapless and I don't want it to be too reveling...so I was thinking maybe like an a-line skirt with a nice going-out top...or maybe yah like what you were saying, skinnys with boots and then a nice like nite-out top....and I have a black peacoat I will probably wear...but don't know what the weather will be like! So i will probably end up bringing a lot of clothes! Haha How have things been lately for you? It seems like time is going by faster now for me, thank God! Less than a month now!!

Oh I hope you get a letter this week too!! I bet you will get one on Thursday...that's the day you usually get letters, right? My husband said that as of Tuesday, their division is FIRST ON SHIP 09!! WOW!! I'm so proud of them!! They are doing AMAZING!!! He said they have been doing marlinespike (knots and seamanship stuff), and that they had to tie and untie a ship from the pier and had 25 mins to do it....and their division did it in 15 mins!!! And they were way faster than another division they were doing it with!!! AWESOME!!! WOW I AM SO PROUD! I am doing better and better now, have more good days than bad, and it seems time is going by way faster, I can't wait till we can see our men!!

I know I'm so so glad our guys got in the best division!! I really want the time to go by super fast too!! I can't wait!! Not long now, though, only 22 days!! YES!! Max and I have been together for 5 years!! What about you and Chris? We met in college through our SCUBA program! He's an instructor and I'm a divemaster...needless to say, when we take vacations, we dive the whole time! We just got back from St. Croix, actually, not long before he had to leave for bootcamp! How did you guys get together?

That's so cool!! Awww you guys are high school sweethearts! Really cute, my parents were high school sweethearts too! Isn't it awesome how you can talk and talk about EVERYTHING to them! Max and I are the same way! If we could get all the time we wanted on the phone, we would be on it for hours!! Haha I bet you guys are the same! But not long now!! OH yah and Max told me that their battlestations test will be Thursday April 7, so we should get a call the following day, Friday April 8!! That's the "im a sailor" call. Only 2 more weeks! And it sounds like after battlestations, they don't do much of anything! Can't wait!

Oh I'm so glad you got a call!! Sounds like all us 132's did!! That was amazing! Best conversation ever!! Totally made my day yesterday and I'm still excited from it!! Not long now!! Max sounded really good and just like his old self!! Was really excited about battlestations!

I think I am going to go all out and wear one of my dresses for PIR, its like a little cocktail dress. It might be a little too dressy, but I have heard of girls wearing prom dresses! And I wanted to look nice for Max...but we will see! If its raining, then probably not!

Are you going to move where Chris' schooling is? He's a nuke, right? So I'm sure his school will be pretty long...and is it in like SC or something? That would be cool...never been there but it looks nice!! And the nice thing is they get their cell phones and laptops back in A-school! Yay!!

Oh my gosh I think its like 9 days until they get to do battlestations!! I'm so excited I can't wait!! Its getting so close now!! In Max's last letter he said that 132 got a pennant that allows their division to go places together without accompaniment of the RDC's...so that is pretty cool! And I think they got all the flags as well...they are doing so good!

I have been doing so much better after getting the phone call on Friday...its great!! What about you? I hope you are feeling good, too! Can't wait to see you and everyone at the meet and greet, that should be fun!

Oh wow a year and a half! That's a long school...but that is pretty nice, at least you know he won't be on deployment for a while!! Max's A-school in GL is only 4 weeks long, so I am actually staying there for a week after PIR just to spend more time with him, and to see my best friend from college that lives in Lansing. After that week, he will only have 3 weeks left there, and then after that's done we will have about 2 weeks leave before we go to our permanent duty station, so that will be amazing! And then yah, I will move wherever he goes!! I'm pretty excited!! Hopefully SD, but if its Spain or Guam or wherever, it will be fun! I am kind of having a hard day today, but I usually get letters tomorrow so that is nice...but only until Friday and then we get a call!! I'm happy about that.

Hey girl! You are so sweet, thanks for the shoulder to lean on! Today was a good day, so that was awesome...but boy, still a roller coaster! So a bad few weeks!!?? I really really hope you get a letter soon! Sounds like he is writing you, but you haven't been getting them! That's really frustrating...but at least you know he has been writing and thinking about you...I wonder if he messed up on your address? Maybe left a digit out or something? That is easy to do...Is there another address they could be going to?

Oh wow he's leaving on Saturday! But at least you get to see him, I think that's all that matters, no matter how much time you have, just being able to hug them and kiss them is all that matters! And you get to go to the airport, that is really nice, even though its early. And yes, A-school will be SO much better, with communication back and all...I can't wait! This Friday we will be getting calls!

Oh yah, and Max said in his letters that they did the "confidence course" and that it went OK and that it actually made things more interesting! They have been doing firefighting all week last week, and he says you can feel the excitement and everyone is ready to be out of there! They are counting the days!

Oh girl I really hope you get some letters on Thursday! So close to the end now! And we know we will get calls on Friday! Yah I'm glad they have been doing firefighting, sounds like its more interesting than the regular day to day stuff! I think today they had their drill inspection (final one I think), so I am sure they all did awesome!

I can't believe how close it is now! So many times it felt like it would never get here!! Gosh I have to pack! Haven't even started on that yet! Are you bringing Chris a cell phone, laptop, clothes, etc? I am bringing all that to Max, so its like packing for 2!! Haha I am totally happy to do it though!

Yes, I believe the drill inspection was the last scheduled thing they had to do before battlestations!! I can't believe its here!! So excited for them they get to do it tonight! I know their division is really good, and that they all work really well together as a team, so I'm sure it will be even fun for them!

So cool about your Navy stuff!! I can't wait to shop at the NEX, I bet it has some really cool Navy stuff as well! Too bad your sweatshirt is on backorder, but at least you got the other stuff! Very cool!

OH MY GOSH IM SO EXCITED!! MAX is now a US CITIZEN!! His picture is in the most recent RTC Naturalization Ceremony picture on facebook, taken yesterday!! WOW we have been waiting so so long for this! I'm shaking I can't believe it! God has blessed us so much! I love him so much, now all I want to do is just to talk to him! I guess I will just have to wait until tomorrow!! :-)

Yes we are so happy about Max's citizenship! When we got to talk after they did battlestations, he didn't even care about battlestations, was like yah got it done, but he was still really excited about citizenship! It was so good to talk to him though, and I'm sure you had a great call with Chris too!

I'm so happy for you that you got a letter!! That is so awesome!! LoL it doesn't matter if its outdated, what matters is you got your letter from him!! That is way exciting!

Now I am so curious to see who won captains cup! Max didn't really care about it, but it would be nice to know for sure who won! There are a bunch of rumors but nothing confirmed, I guess we will just have to wait until Monday!

I am so glad we got our calls on Friday though. Max was tired but sounded just like his good old self, and we got to talk for an hour!! I hope you guys got to talk for a long time too...well less than a week now! I can't wait until this stage of our lives is over!! Haha hope you are having a good day girl!

HEY GIRL!! SO EXCITED FOR YOU!! IT sounds like Chris is leaving Sunday now!!! Is that right?? Wow that would be so cool! So hoping he leaves Sunday to have more time with you guys! That would be the best thing ever!! It looks like Max is leaving on Friday after graduation, but he just has to go across the street!! So that is good!

I got to talk to him today for an hour and a half!! Things sounded so good there, he was feeling great, thinking about our future, the usual! He also said that our 132 got 2nd place in Captains Cup!! WOOT our guys are awesome!! Super glad to hear that, he also said it was a lot of fun. He did the pushup and pullup part. I hope Chris got to do the softball part.

YES! I can't wait to go to San Diego!! We are moving mid May, so its coming up soon!! Can't wait, been looking at housing all day!! Haha...well I best get going cause I gotta pack! Leaving tomorrow!! See you soon girl!

Hey girl!! It was so good to see you!! So glad Max and I ran into you and Chris!! And thanks for taking our picture together!! I am so happy we can see them again, its like its back to good old times now...thank God!! I hope you had a great day today with Chris...today I picked Max up at 5 am, we had continental breakfast, then we went back to bed until 12!! We hardly did anything today, just layed around the motel room and were lazy together! :-) But it was awesome, best day ever!! Hope you had an amazing time with Chris today!! I hope he has safe travels tomorrow as well...I'm so glad we get to talk to them again!! Good for us for getting through this phase!! Bootcamp....check! A-school...next on the list!!

Oh my gosh girl I feel the same way!!! Yes the weekend was amazing and I'm so so SO happy we got to spend it with our guys!! It was really perfect!! Oh yah I LOVE your pictures from Chicago, too! I saw them on facebook, I will have to go back later and "like" them!! :-) I bet it was super hard saying goodbye, I am dreading Monday (actually Sunday night) when I have to say goodbye to Max...its so good to get phone calls, and I am super thankful, but yes, you took the words right out of my mouth, this stage is going to be hard, too, and I am kinda depressed as well! Even though I am here in GL still, it sucks because they get a little bit more liberty, but still have to report back in at night and have duty days some days when I can't see him at all. I am thankful that its not nearly as bad as boot camp was, but its still really hard when all I want to do is just to see him and spend time with him. So yes, I totally know how you feel!! I feel the same way!! It will get better, and has gotten a lot better already, but still not back to normal yet. Luckily I get to go see my best friend from college tomorrow in Michigan so that will be fun, and its a day when I can't see Max so it works out good. I really really hope you can plan a trip out to SC soon to see Chris!!
