    Hi,

My name is Robin and my son is Dustin.  He is not my only child but the youngest and my only son.  So far, this has been some wild ride and most of the time I want to get off.  Please take the time to visit this site often, the experiences, knowledge, and kindness of those who have gone before us and those who are going through exactly what we're going through is priceless.

Hi Carola-- My son, Matt just called today and is in 07/188.  He said there are 4 other nukes in his division and heard there are others so there should be a good group heading to SC after PIR.  He also said his whole division is sick and he has a bad ear ache so I hope their PIR doesn't get delayed.  We are staying at the Residence Inn because we have 6 people coming and heard the shuttle to PIR is good

    Hi Carol,

I hope you get word soon.  I know I felt much better afterwards -- just needed a little bit of a connection with my son.  He'll be turning 21 during BC and since that is such a milestone in a young person's life, it's hard to not be able to celebrate with him.  He has an identical twin brother who we are taking to Disneyland to celebrate his big day -- just wish they could celebrate together.  What division is Shaun in?  Where do you live?  I'm in Nor California

So good to hear news from other moms in this division. My son called (his girlfriend) not me, she said he was sick and coughing, so I can confirm the whole division is sick. He is scheduled for a root canal on his Birthday...tomorrow, poor kid!! Oh he is one of the 4 other nukes hapsmolmr mentioned (I guess). I have received two brief letters and have read them a dozen times.

Glad to hear that you heard from Shaun.  I will hook up with you on Facebook after the crazy weekend that I'm in for here and we can chat.  Matt seems to enjoy BC too -- maybe it's because they know what job they are heading towards and they are focused and excited about that.  Matt says there are lots of recruits who came in without any specific job waiting for them and they may be the ones that are having a harder time.  Glad Matt doesn't seem to be too homesick -- I think he misses our dogs the most.

so good to hear you got a phone call.  Isn't it great to hear their voice after such a long time?  I'm keeping my cell phone on me at all times (which is really unusual for me) just in case he gets another phone call.

I think mother's day will be a tough one.  We are flying to Reno to be with my 2 other kids.
