I see you joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!!  We are a friendly, caring group of moms always willing to listen and support.  Please feel free to jump in and join our chats!!  We like to discuss everything from our sailors to our jobs, weather, whatever.  It's also a great place if you want to yell, scream, vent, cry - - there is no judgment involved!!!  Brag about your sailor but also tell us when you are hurting because you miss her so!!!  I see your daughter is getting ready to leave for bc in a few short weeks.  Enjoy the time you have together - the loss of communication during bc is the hardest.  But we will all be here to help you through it!!  Looking forward to getting to know you and your sailor!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!

I certainly understand how that moment, and many more to come, can be so pride-filled yet sad as well.  I served in the US Navy myself and when first my son, and then my daughter said they wanted to enlist I was so proud of them.  But the day my daughter left I felt as if my heart was going to break right out of my chest.  My little girl was leaving and I knew she'd never return as my same little girl.  I'm still so proud of her, but I wish we could just run out to the mall and check out all the pretty dresses and watch her try on the frilly girly prom dresses and such!!!!  I miss my shopping buddy!!!!  Hang in there, and I will be thinking about you Monday and Tuesday!!!  Come share with us if you need some shoulders to lean on - that's what we're here for!!!!!  NavyMom hugs to you!!!!

So happy to hear you got letters and thank you for being so honest.  The only communication I've received is pre-printed "Dear (fill in the blank) letter.  At the very end there is a place for recruits comments and his words broke my heart.  Although very brief, he stated that he wanted to quit at one point, he misses everyone especially the girlfriend, and he was not allowed to write Sunday. 

"texasmom" on the 5/26 group---go to PIR 5/26's group and find her on the MEMBERS in that group.  Flesh-colored picture icon with an emblem. Please message her.  I have contacted her and she will be more than happy to talk to you.  Her son went through this.  She actually had briefly joined the 6/3 group thinking that is where he was put, but he ended up in the 5/26 group.  Keep in touch with how she is doing!  The ladies on the 6/3 group want to know!

I asked my husband and he said our meeting will go till after 1PM. Maybe I can go next time :) I really do appreciate your invitation, there is nothing better than listening to the Word of God and being in His presence.
