I am a proud mom of 1 son, we live in California and I am very happy to say I am Navy Mom, I never knew my son would join any military services, and when he joined the Navy, I had mixed emotions, I am so thankfull for this site, it has helped me to prepare emotionally, and to know I am not the only mom out there with all kinds of mixed emotions.

Same to you Gina! My name is Regina by the way. All the kids call me Aunt Gina. lol.. Our son graduated early and just got married so he moved out in November. His now wife lived in Louisiana across the street from my parents. He moved in with them and worked to be closer to her. It is still hard on me and my family. They lived her a month before he left. I miss him everyday. But having done this before i know what to expect. All your feeling are normal and it hurts everyday. Once you start getting letters and some call you will feel better. The pride you feel on PIR graduation is unbelievable. I am here anytime you need to talk. You can even send me private message. Hang in there honey and have a great weekend. staying busy helps out a lot. Hugs, Regina
Good Morning! Hope you are doing okay. The Ship Number is the building your son will be in and the other his his division he is in, in that building. When you send mail you will always put those two in the address. Your sons recruiter should have the address and ship/division number for you. You should call him on Monday. They can pull it up somehow on their computers. When you got to PIR (Pass In Review) which is graduation from bootcamp you will sit in the division section he gave you. They come in the building by division and standin front of where u will be sitting. We just so happened to get our sons address quick. Usually takes awhile. I posted a discussion in the Boot Camp Forum for all people in that division. Let me know when u find out. They could be in the same division or not. Have a good day.
We have been mailing letters since we got it. He may not get them right away but when he does he'll get a bunch at one time. Not sue how long it will take to get their mail set up. Hugs, Regina
I mailed a card but i heard that their address could change so i am waiting for the form letter to verify the address. He will still get the card but it may just take a little longer. Sorry i got your comment and i had ready someone else's right before. Got them mixed up..LOL Sorry again.
Early is good for me on the ribbons lol. I will send the info your way. You can also click on my name and add me as a friend and I can send to your N4M email. Thanks, Lora
Hello Gina. I got a phone call from my daughter today. She is doing very good. Still haveing a hard time leading the Div but she is getting the jod done. I am very proud of her. She says at one point she wanted to quit her job as RPOC but they wouldnt let her. She said it was hard to focus on her studies, when she was having to look over everyone else. I cant wait to put my arms around her. 15 more days :-)
Hi Gina. We live about an hour away from GL so we will be able to bring my son home for a few hours. He will leave on Saturday morning to South Carolina for nuclear power school. After the first three months, he has two weeks off! He also said they give them 2 weeks for Christmas, though not necessarily Christmas Day.
Do you know if you will have time with your son after graduation? This is our third graduation in two years (two step kids) and one was a Grad N Go. We spent the day at the airport with him, he didn't get to come home. :(
