Welcome aboard! My son was in Nuke school in Goose Creek...so I am familiar with your area...Mine is fwd deployed on a fast attack sub in the S Pacific.

Check out the groups tab at the top of this page, under the banner...Look for your son's rate (job), his ship, and for Japan...as I believe that there are groups for most rates, most ships, and there might even be one for those with loved ones stationed in Japan.

Forgot to mention most states...and if nothing else, you could become friends with either Nuke wives or the Nuke group...as you are close enough to lend a hand or be an ear for loved ones with sailors currently in school there.

We are now looking at housing called "The Elms of Charleston."  We still have a few years before I can retire, but we so want to get down your way.

Your sailor is in my thoughts.

In the early 80's my brother and his family lived in Mt. Pleasant.  Charleston has always been a dream of ours.  We even have a brick somewhere around the old Woolworth's store.  We have a pix of our sailor at about age 5 pointing to it, and again from two years ago.
