How cool! I am in a sorority at state too. Not one in the houses but I founded it on campus. My fiance went to groton. Is your son going to school there?

Hey Nancy...i am very familiar with the Bay Area.  I was born in San mateo, lived in Foster City and graduated from Burlingame High (oohhh...is that to much info to give online??...I would be mad if my kids gave that much info to a stranger online).  Very exciting~this Navy journey.  I had joined the Army right out of HS...so, i have a "slight" insite...but the military has changed..and the Navy is a whole lot different!!

    Thanks for friending me.

    Hi Nancy,

My son reported to Pt. Loma in San Diego Oct. 1st.

We were able to enjoy some time with him here at home after "A" School graduation.

Since his boat (USS Albuquerque) was deployed, he was flown to Guam to meet them.

He was able to call when he arrived!

We've gotten one short email since then.  I can't help worrying about him.  It makes it difficult because we know so little of what he's doing, eating, sleeping etc...

Is your son stationed in VA?

    How are you doing?

We have 2 kids but they are both so far away now.  Also recently retired and going through empty nest syndrome :(

Oh, forgot to answer your question, sorry!  Los Angeles Class Fast Attack submarine.

He, (Zac) said he bunks in the torpedo room.

I didn't mean to ramble on so much!

    Thanks for friending me.

    Beth :)

Wow, you have lots of family!

That must be nice.  I hope some live near you so you can enjoy them :)

Our older daughter lives in Florida :(

You're a school teacher.  What a great profession to choose.

What is Ian's rate, or job?

I hope the boys get a special dinner for Thanksgiving.

    Time for bed here.

    Beth :)
