Thanks for accepting my friend request. Still waiting to find out my daughter's ship/div #. Hope its soon my hand is getting writers cramp from writing letters already..lol. What did your son go in Navy for..."Rate/Job Title"? My daughter is MM, which surprised the heck out of me..lol. Hope all is well with you, I know how difficult it is to be missing son/daughter especially this time of the year. Feel free to chat anytime :)

Which hotel?

Thanks for your note.  Yep, you might be right.  I understand (from my daughter) that my son was required to stay overnight in a hotel locally before he traveled to boot camp.  If I could only get my ex to just let me know when he hears from our son.  I think he reported to camp on 1 December.  This was the latest PIR group, so I was hoping.

Nice to hear your excitement for your son.  This will be a great experience for both our sons.

How are you? Just checking in..LOL. I rec'd my daughter's form letter Friday :). Was so good to hear from her (small note on back) & a big relief to know she's doing good. Now just waiting on the first real letter & the call home...can't wait for that day. We've decided we're going to drive to IL..:( yuck but would walk if I had to..lol. Keep me updated :)

welcome ! My daughter just graduated bc on Friday and we just came back from GL... it was so cold .... it looks like our sons are on the same ship same division... :-)...the first couple of weeks are very hard ... but we get through it .... hopefully we can meet at graduation ....:-)

Hi ,we stayed at the Ramada , but we didnt really like it too much... alot of people stay there for the " meet and greet" and it has a free shuttle to the base... I dont think we will stay there again though ... I think we will be at the Holiday Inn...

In letter she said Friday (Dec. 2) was 1-1

I'm assuming it was this past Friday anyways, she didn't date her letter but poststamp is Dec. 5th. Didn't say anything about the brother division unless she's talking about both of them when she was saying alot of the SRs don't know when to be quiet so they've had to do extra workouts & since they're not being quiet when suppose to they get "BEAT" : Better Educated and Trained.

I think the more details we know the more we are comforted, no matter how trivial it may seem. My daughter even included in the letter the time limits they have on everything..lol. If you're looking for recommendations of where to stay we have reservatons @ Homewood Suites (Hilton) from Thurs.-Mon. @ rate of $74 a night using the code in the pamplet that came with form letter. Looks like a really nice suite that we'll be getting, only downfall is Hubby was hoping they would have an indoor hot tub, which is kinda strange for a Hilton not to have one especially since they do have indoor pool. Oh, well we're not complaining suit looks awesome so we'll just wait & see.

So Glad you got a letter from him! 

I am hoping my daughter is doing well.  She didn't mention some of the girls were having a difficult time.  I am wondering if she is a leader too, as she is an oldest child.  But, she may be trying to lay low too.

I am hoping to get some more letters soon.  I miss her like crazy and the last few days have been difficult.

i am so happy for you! i hope i get mine monday :( well does that go for ALL of the div with the pir date? im so confused it will probably make more sense once i get a letter and he explains, or at least i hope he does :)

no phone call but got my second letter...she sounded great

We got a phone call, UNFORTUNATELY I was NOT HOME.  She called her dad and talked to him(glad he answered!  He usually doesn't if he doesn't know the phone number when he's at work)  He said she sounded in a good mood.  She said she was having "fun"  Leave it to my crazy girl to think boot camp is fun.  She wrote me a letter with a few kind of yucky things, like getting extra PT, a blister that got infected and something else and then says But otherwise everything is great LOL!  She is making friends in her Ship too. :D 

Yeah, I received a 25min. phone call & 3 letters yesterday:). Has made my week :). She's doing well, besides her feet from the boots. :(. She has been assigned to Ship Staff. She's in charge of approving who enters ship @ salutes all officers & such, she also has ship watch 2-4 hours, & makes announcements about uniform of the day, not to mention clean the ship deck. She sounds really happy about having the job. Although, in her opinion some of the SRs still don't know when to be quiet so still getting worked pretty hard. Although she said the guys got worked really hard on the 14th. Guess, the dentist tried to tell her she didn't have her wisdom teeth pulled, but I know she did cause our dentist was surprised that there were no roots on her wisdom teeth. Said she hasn't been called back yet. She declined glasses but will get her eyes checked again after BC. Said she's making lots of friends & is friends with almost all the girls. So, that's about all for now so I'm in much better spirits now :) Glad you got a call as well.

I found them at Hobby Lobby! There was only one style! I did get my tree up my husband knew I wanted a small one so when I got home from work and noticed he hadn't assembeled a tree he said that he had already been to Wal-mart he just didn't know which one I would want! So we went and got one after place the 2 "Navy" ones on and 2 ballerina ones for my daughter he pulled out our old decorations and completley unintentionally we ended up with a complete USA tree lol! It was funny how it came together!

No I forgot all about someone on here having a pic of one until you just now said that I will get on top of that right now! The closest Target is an hour away so I will order one!!! Thank you for the reminder!

Ok I did a search through Targets website and I can't find them :( I searched for sailor nutcracker, any suggestions?
