My name is Deanna. I am married with 3 boys. One is 27 and works for an advertising company here in Pittsburgh. My middle son is 19 and going to Virginia Tech. My youngest is 18 and will be leaving for boot camp on August 2. He is a volunteer firefighter and EMT. His leaving scares me, makes me sad, but mostly fills me with pride. I love my babies so much. I'm not ready for this. I pray I will find peace and much needed support here.

I really haven't learned much yet. I think I've known for a long time this would be my son's path (Oh how I tried to talk him into college before joining). I have learned that what parents want can't and shouldn't stand in the way of a child's dream. My son has always served his community in some way (now as a volunteer fire fighter) and now wants to serve his country. What more could a mom want?
