We have a Survival Guide for Navy For Moms Newbie. You find everything here. Videos, pdf files of boot camp processing days, links to all the important groups plus tips on how to use this site. Best part is it'll be here on your very own page as a reference. Click MY PAGE on above menubar to access your page anytime - you should do it at least once a day to see if you have any postings on your comment wall (like this one). Good luck.

We have been to La Quinta (very hot at the end of May). LOL. Be sure to read thru stuff on the Survival Guide. You should be joining the Boot Camp moms group. You probably got your "I am here" call. Have you gotten the box yet?  BTW, we have a very active group in San Fran - not any active groups in So. Cal. But join my group in SF. At least you'll get the feel of being w other in CA. even if you can't join us for a meet and greet unless you are up here by chance. Actually, one mom flew up here from LA for a meet and greet two years ago. Here is the link

Hi! My son is in the same ship and div as your son! I'd love I chat!

My boyfriend's name is matt! & I know, he is the first person I've ever been really close with so this experience is completely new to me (so is this website so I'm sorry if it takes me long to respond haha). It is nice to know there are actually people in his group! I was getting worried there for a while. I had no idea what to expect so at least it will be nice to talk to and see what is going on with everybody else

My son's name is Justice. He turned 19 this month. We got the form letter on Thursday. We lie in Oklahoma. I am from San Diego and hope he gets stationed there. How old Iis your son and what is his name?
  • LedaB

I'm glad there are some boys his age. I know he is a big boy but I just really hope he makes friends. He would hate to know I said that! Justice is actually my step son but I wouldn't love him more if he was my own. Our house seems so quiet without him home. We have other kids at home but he is definitely the life of the house.

    Sunni,

We got a beautiful note scratched on the back of his form letter.  I'm looking forward to our next letter.  Getting the "kid in the box" was hilarious for us.  Needless to say, all of that went straight into the washing machine.  It sorta reminded me of when he used to come back from Boy Scout camping trips.

We are flying in on Thursday night.  We are meeting our daughter, who happens to be working in Chicago that week and our SR's girlfriend, who is in coming in from Birmingham, at the airport, then driving to the Residence Inn, where our oldest son and his friend will meet us.  I'm making bracelets for my girls, so I won't be buying any ribbons.  We probably won't go to any meet and greets, since we'll be having a mini family reunion, but that may change.
