A little about me:
I am 38yrs old married for 8 yrs and we have two sons together my oldest 18 yrs old in the navy and my youngest 15 yrs old freshman in high school.  I have two step-daughters oldest 26 and she has twin daughters age 5 and the other is 23 yrs old.

So far a learn that my son is no longer reachable and I just can't pick up the phone and call when I want o hear his voice. This is the first time my child has been away from me more than 2weeks . It is hard on him and hard on us .
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

    Praying Mom..... my heart hurt for you!  I could not imagine!!  Thank GOD their are wonderful families out there like that!  We did that for my brother in 1979 with a SR friend of his.  I cannot imagine not hearing from Brandon for all that time and look so forward to his PIR date and he isn't even there until 8/15.  My prayers are with you and I am always here to chat.... we can do this!!!

    Hey, Praying Mom, thanks for asking about my son, Matt.  Thursday night he called and it was the first time since he left home that I thought this might work out for him.  He was up beat and actually excited.  It really made all the difference for me.  As you know, if your kids are happy you are happy.  He is about two hours from my folks and I think he is going to try and take a train up to see them.  Tomorrow he is going to the mall with a bunch of guys so things are looking up.  Thanks again and I hope all is well with you.
