I am a mother of 3- dtr who is a college grad and preparing to start more school, my SR recruit who also has a twin going to college. I will be an empty nester....did not realize how emotional I would be....but each day IS better. I am also celebrating a 25th anniversary this week. I am a RN, but the joy of my life is my family....I am beaming with pride in all of them, but will miss them being home....but love that they are confident in going forward in their lives. Gonna miss them though!

Yes!! I can't believe how excited I was to get a box of dirty clothes!LOL I watched some of the videos on his phone too I was laughing and crying at the same time. it's been a long week......I have always talked to my kids everyday, even when they would go to their dads or to my parent's house in Texas. I am so ready to hear his voice. I talked to the recruiter today he said he was Ship 11 Division 336. How are you? How's everything going?
This is thrilling. I agree. This site is great and allows us to share and assist. I am doing better than last week. And I am happy to have a date and something to plan....to keep me busy! The going away party was great, but afterward - like as I was preparing to take son to recruiter, I realised I had been burrying my head in the sand so as to not think about him leaving. It was tough going!! I also had the added emotion of my son's first girlfriend and -SHEESH- what a mess. She is now off to college, we have a letter and a date and the world is lookin' a bit more cheerful. All this OPSEC stuff makes it difficult. Necessary, but still wierd! I find it easlier to talk to someone going through the same mess as me. Friends are great, but they haven't been here. And family (well mine anyway) is clueless! LOL!I have visions of us all at PIR calling across the space "kathyc"!! "boxinator"!! "mommaNavyson"!! "hopelessinSeatle"!! Should be interesting, right?
