If you know of anyone in Boot Camp, or Leaving Soon for Boot Camp, go to http://callsforrecruits.org/ and Get FREE phone cards for them to use. Loved ones or the Recruits should NOT have to pay for phone calls from Boot Camp…and now they Don't!!

So you have done this before? I'm not sure I could do it again. It has been harder than I thought. My sons recruiter also wasn't up front with a lot of things and that left a sour taste in my mouth. I am finding out more fromthe moms than from the recruiter.

Hello, Thank you for the friend request.   9-4 sounded so far away in the beginning, now it is coming faster and faster....Hope all is well with you & your son.  We are now in the process of just getting things ready for the "Day".  I am sure I will be talking to you again soon. I find myself not leaving this site just looking for all the advice and good pep talks I can find.  My daughter is so excited that I find it hard to even sound down around her I want her to keep that excitement:)

Thanks for the info, I think I just got really nervous considering he has already come this far in training and I don't want anything to halt that. I have recovered (lol) a little and I am just praying more than usual. I appreciate so much that you took the time to ease me mind.

    Hi There!

I'm still finding my way around the forums and can't get back to your original reply, so I want to just thank you for responding, and especially for asking how I was doing.  =)  My son and I just spent a couple of hours around the pool making bad jokes and throwing sarcastic barbs back and forth - general fare for us - but through it all I was fighting back tears knowing the week is flying by and I don't know how in the world I am going to hold it together when we drop him off on Monday.  He's been in the DEP since March, so I've had plenty of time to get used to the idea, and I'm so proud of him!  Just had no idea it would be this hard....thanks for asking!  Now....how are YOU doing? =)

You are so sweet!  We are actually doing well.  Less than 7 days away, but we are calm and he's brave.  I took him to San Francisco for a great two days of kicking around, sightseeing and mostly just hanging out together.  It will definitely be a wonderful memory for me.  I had a tearful moment during dinner, but it was a happy, "I've been so blessed to have you as my son" kind of tears.  We meet with the CPO tomorrow and go through all the details of next week.  I'm good...really.  I'm at peace right now....next week or the week after, well, I'll get back to ya!!

    How about you?
