My dad served during WWII in the Paific. His memories are as expected from a time of war as well as being cared for personally by those in command. He is very proud his grandson made the same decision as he. That made it very easy for me to be excited and supportive of my son's decision,too. I also respect and really appreciate the two recruiters from our area, Petty Officer Jonathan Gregory and Petty Officer Greg Ottesen.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

    Hi Jackie, thank you for adding me on the friends' list and also thank you so much for the really kind words :)

    I think, gfs have tough time because our relationship is not stable as family relationship, but I also know any military moms have more tough time thinking and worrying about own child. We all know moms (and dads) are the best supporter for children's life no matter what :D I'm really glad my sailor to have a very special experiences and opportunities to meet wonderful people like you! Hope we can enjoy talking about our sailors and be a great supporter together.

    Also, one thing I would like to mention... Have you heard about new ABC drama series called "Last Resort"? That's about Ohio class submarine, and mainly filmed in Hawaii. Actually it just started last night. I am not sure how accurate the system in the drama compare to the actual life on the boat, but I will definitely watch it to get any knowledge about their life :) Hope it might help you.
