    So, I think we have a ton in common - both live in PA, our SRs shipped out the same day, they are both joining the Reserves and they are both 31!  We should officially be friends! :)

    My husband is graduating on 11/9 and I couldn't be more excited.  We live just outside of Pittsburgh, about an 8 hour drive from Great Lakes.  I assume you're closer to Philly?  If you're driving, feel free to pass through here and we can caravan!  :)

    Juliette, not sure what we are doing yet, I and my middle son (who is 30 today) will be going, my older son and daughter in law will go to A school grad.  Did find a round trip flight into MKE for 218. round trip on travelocity, have to talk to my son today about what he wants to do, don't really want to drive l5 hours with him as he will not let me drive (apparently at 57 I no longer know how to drive! lol)  Hope to get this settled today as I will feel better having a plan and something to look forward to.

    You can go ahead and reserve hotels at any time....the earlier, the better.  Their cancellation policies are very liberal.  Remember that Navy Lodge doesn't have a shuttle so you will need to drive to RTC for PIR, but it is only about 1.5 miles away...and you will get a free pass to a smaller NEX to shop if you like...usually sailors have to be with you but not in this case.

    Bring your extras to PIR!  They should get in.  They can only guarantee 4 per sailor....but the others should get in.  Maybe have to wait for a little while (save them seats) but then they come in.  It is worth it so bring them!  Remember, many sailors will have no one at PIR for them  :-(, so their spots are available.  Saw your post on Bootcamp Moms.

    Hang in there. I know how painful it is but it will get better. My relationship w my bf has gotten so much closer & so much stronger from this. We appreciate so much more now, each text, each call, each visit.
    Urs was most likely allowed to write yesterday. If they processed mail today, u might get something towards the end of this week. (This is according to std schedule. Circumstances my occur.)
    Hang in there & keep busy. The days will pass & the letters will come. =)

    Hi and thanks for thinking of me.  I'm doing well, I feel kind of out of place because unlike most of the people on this site, I'm not concerned at all.  I know my daughter is strong and independent and she'll be fine.  I do hate not hearing from her but I know that's part of the process.  This is what she wanted so I'm prayerful that it will be all she wants it to be and more.  I see that someone a loved one who's SR is in the same division as my daughter got a letter so I hope I get one soon.

    Lucky !! Yeah I'm hoping I get more this week. And yes I've been writing him everyday as well. I know isn't that crazy how we haven't talked to them like we used to for a whole month?!     Yeah I definitely know how you feel. It can be very frustrating at times. But this is the life we signed up for. So we just gotta stay strong. I am flying to Great Lakes on Nov 8th with his parents. I still don't know where we're staying they're taking care of all that and letting me know when it's all set in stone. What about you ?

    He is active. He'll only be in Great Lakes for 3 weeks cause he already got his job. So all he'll be doing there is physical training for his job. So then he will come home in beginning of December and they will base him.

    You'll probably get your phone call tomorrow since your man is a different division. Hang tough. He'll call in the later afternoon so keep that phone on you !! Hopefully his division is doing better than Collin's so you get a longer phone call :)

    Happy Friday - how are you holding up ???  I haven't been able to spend much time on the site this week.  Been busy at work and at home.  It's really made the time go by faster so I'm glad.  I was thrilled to get a call AND a letter from my daughter yesterday !!!  She was so excited she went on and on; I had a hard time hearing her because she caught me while I was traveling on the bus but it was SO good to hear from her.  I see a difference in her already, a GOOD difference.

    How about you, have you gotten anything?
