I am first of all a child of God & believer that Jesus Christ is my Lord & Savior! Being a young woman, I am at 52 years of age & happily married to a wonderful & successful man who has also raised my daughter as his own for the past 9+years. I have an amazing 20 year old daughter, Taylor Angelique, who just called me last night to inform me that she had safely arrived at Navy boot camp & was concerned that I would not worry. I also have two older sons, ages 33 & 30. They are both married & have children of their own. My oldest son Jason has 4 daughters...Lilian, Ava Grace, Rowan Alexandra, and Lilah Abbott...who was born only two weeks ago. My younger son, Justin, has 1 daughter, Alyssa Anne, who is at the ripe old age of 6 months. Justin joined the US Marine corps at 20 years of age...& turned 21 while fighting in Iraq. We are blessed to have him home after completing 2 tours in Iraq. I especially enjoy gardening and baking cookies with my older grand-daughters. I help my husband with our family business...casket sales. I also embroidery personalized head panels for customers who request them. As a side hobby, I enjoy remodeling & refurbishing old things. On a rainy day, you can find me in my "craft" room creating beautiful jewelry with authentic gemstones. And every once in a while, we take off for a few days of camping in our RV...just NOT often enough! A few words that I believe best describe me would be happy, considerate, respectful, trustworthy, articulate & energized! If I know that I won't be able to keep my word, I just won't give it. To have me as a friend is to have someone you CAN depend on. Now you know a bit about me!

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?

When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Since I really do not know anyone personally who has served in the US Navy, my experience with the Navy so far has been limited to information obtained from my daughter & her recruiter.
Although, Taylor has always carried herself with dignity & self-respect, I have seen a difference in her determination to complete tasks and overcome obstacles with a greater degree of patience as well as humility. I've also learned that even the best of intentions spoken by family & friends can sometimes be so misunderstood causing me to wonder, "What were they thinking?" A dear friend of my mine thought he was encouraging me with this statement, "Just remember all of the parents who are having to go through this type of separation for the first time...at least you've been down this road before." Can I say, the word "insensitive" (along with a few other words) is the first thing that came to mind. Yes, this is indeed my second time "down this road", but it still feels like the very first time! I do believe that the decision Taylor made to join the US Navy was well thought-out and prayed about. I simply could not be more proud of her! My husband said something to me the other day that will forever echo in my mind..."The Navy will be great for Taylor and Taylor will be great for the Navy." And I totally agree!
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Happy to meet you. My son as you know is in this Div and I just hope all is fine with these youngsters. I know you have concerns about your daughter but your faith will certainly conquer those fears. I decided to add all the groups I have interest in or that I feel may give me more info on our recruits. Be just as open and inviting as you appear to be. My son has wanted this for some time. I never considered that he may be in the performing division. So happy. Do you have any idea what Taylor will be doing. Where will she be going after PIR?
Maybe they will be friends LOL like they are in 5th grade. Yesterday was my Bday and a letter would have been great but nothing :( Anything from Taylor yet?
I agree with your comment, ppl can be very insensetive. I think some ppl just can't belielve my daughter has the balls to do what so many ppl themselves don't have the balls to do. Just sayin.
