I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!! We are a friendly caring group of moms and are always willing to listen, share and help each other whenever or wherever we can. Plus the joyful and anxiety filled journey of being a Navy Mom!!!  Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!!  I see your daughter doesn't leave for bootcamp in March, and that you also joined Moms of IS.  Is that the rating your daughter is going into?  My son is an IS!!!  Oh, and something else we have in common  -  our family all lived in Augusta for 12 years!!  Left there in 03!!  I look forward to learning about you and your sailor!!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!

I'm glad you are going to get to go to MEPS to watch your daughter's swearing in!!  I was so thankful that I had that time at MEPS with my first daughter to enlist, and we even went to the airport to wait with her.  If nothing else her Dad and I helped calm her nerves.  Our son likes being an IS.  He did his first 4 year enlistment as an AO but couldn't find any civilian job that could use those skills!!!  So he went back in the Navy as an IS.  He just reenlisted for 6 more years.  He feels that this rating will really help him in the "real" world!!!!  My daughter was a PS and it was not a good choice for her.  She's out now, going to college on her GI Bill.  My other daughter (they're twins!) did college first and is now an Ensign going through flight training in Pensacola as a NFO.
