Welcome to NavyforMoms.com. My name is Ronny and my son has been in the Navy since February of 2012. He is currently stationed in San Diego with a Helicopter Squadron. He is an Aviation Structural Mechanic. I hope you find all the info you are looking for here, and if you have any questions feel free to ask. My son is 3rd Generation Navy, so I do know a little about the Navy..:)

He will be leaving July 10th. Going to Great Lakes which is 40 miles away from my home town of where I moved to Havasu from. I have lived in Havasu since 1994. Is your son in boot camp already?

I am all new to all this "lingo" for the Navy talk so bear with me. I am learning probably just like you did. Did your daughter go to the high school here? My son will graduate from high school in May. Turns 18 on the 6th of July and leaves for Phoenix on the 9th for ship off on the 10th. He is doing damage control/firefighter. He had a few ups and downs before he was able to enter in as he has astigmatism in his eyes and was disqualified but then filed a waiver and was excepted. Do you have any other children?

So she has just been gone 7 days!! WOW! Was she excited to go and how did the phone call go when she called? I bet you miss her so much already. Do you know when her graduation is in Great Lakes?
