I'm a mother of four grown children, including Jacoby, my youngest son who is leaving for the Navy on April 2, 2013. I am excited for him and sad at the same time...:( It will be in his best interest to serve and I'm very proud of him. I'm having a hard time letting go of my "baby". I thought I could get some advice and help on this site...and eventually be able to help someone else after I go through it myself!
Welcome to NavyforMoms.com. My name is Ronny and my son has been in the Navy since February of 2012. He is currently stationed in San Diego with a Helicopter Squadron. He is an Aviation Structural Mechanic. I hope you find all the info you are looking for here, and if you have any questions feel free to ask. My son is 3rd Generation Navy, so I do know a little about the Navy..:)
If you have a new Sailor who is in Boot Camp, or leaving soon, visit CallsforRecruits.org and I will send you FREE Pre-Paid Phone cards for your SR to use while they are in boot camp. I started that program when my son left for Boot Camp :)
Welcome Aboard and I wish your Sailor Fair Winds and Following Seas.
My son is leaving on Sunday, April 1st. I also am dealing with empty nest syndrome. Hopefully they will meet each other. Once they are there, we can try to get them to connect to say "hi."
Hello! My son is leaving on Easter from another state: staying with grandma to help her out. I won't see him till graduation. I understand there are Meet and Greets on Thursday night before. We should meet at one of those. Will your "baby" end up in Pensacola, too? My son will fuel airplanes on aircraft carriers. It is a job he can do after the Navy. He is so excited!
My son leaves from Boise on April 2nd ---a week from today! The tears started coming...in a major way... yesterday when I realized our last evening would be with him next Monday! And I really haven't stopped being weepy... he too is my "baby" and only son. So glad I have all of you to help me out!! :-) kp
