Hi Traley, My son just left for boot camp yesterday too and we received the call around 7 pm last night that he had arrived.  That was difficult, because, as a mom, you want to say so much more, and you're wondering how he is dealing with it.  But, we knew ahead of time that it would be like that.  I have been praying throughout the day, more than usual;)  I keep thinking of when we will see him walking in PIR:)  Maybe we can figure out if our boys know eachother?

Hi, My son shipped out to Great Lakes yesterday for Boot Camp. I think there's only one Navy Boot Camp. Is that where your son went, too?

What area is your son going into? (I am not familiar with the military language, yet) Mine is supposed go into Aviation Ordnance. He is supposed to go to Pensicola for AIT after BC.

How are you doing? Did you receive 'the box', yet?

We got the box last Thursday, but no letter yesterday. Hopefully today!

We shall see when the real date is, although we are making the reservation for the hotel for that date.

We just received the "letter"  and the PIR date is the 12th of July for us  He is on Ship 14 div 263

Any news for you?

I sent a letter yesterday! Today I'm going to try to find a funny card. Then, I hope to send another letter off tomorrow. I really would like to send something each day. .....but, maybe then that's too much.

I received Sami's letter yesterday!!!  She is graduating July 19th and is on ship 09 division 265 - not with your boy anymore but hopefully they see one another at times.  :o)

Hope you're doing well!!!  Will you be flying out from Sacramento?  Where do you think you'll stay for the graduation?  I would love to meet you - probably saw you at MEPs to see the kids swear in. :o)

Sounds like you have good plans and sound like what we'll be doing as well - as far as renting a car and trying to spend as little money as possible.  :o)
