I am 71 years old and widowed. My recruit is my Great-Grandson. He has lived with me, periodically, through his baby, toddler, teen and now young adult years. I live in Northern California where we have two seasons, (winter and summer) I have three grown children. Five Grandchildren and five Great-Grandchildren. All are special to me, but this recruit is my pride and joy.
I am here to support my

When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
My recruit has only been at boot camp for 12 days. I have a lot to learn.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

I feel certain this week will be better and will say a prayer. My son is scheduld for A School in San Antonio, but had talked to his recruiter just before leaving and may end up at Pensacola as well if he can change paperwork. How cool would that be to end up there together, and a much closer drive for me on weekend visits!
Your SR should know my son through the DEP in Yuba City! They left on the same day from Sacramento. Hopefully you have heard from your grandson by now. Are you going to attend the graduation? We are, and have already booked airline, hotel and a rental car. We are very excited to see our son at the Pass in Review. We found out he is singing in the choir and will get to perform at graduation.
OH, silly me, I just now read all your previous comments. I am sorry your grandson is homesick. I am sure this week will be better. He will be so proud of all he accomplished in boot camp, you won't even recognize him when you see him afterwards! Sometimes it just takes longer for them to figure it all out...
Hi Granny:) I'm doing okay sure have missed not getting a call the past week and a half. He sound good, doesn't give a lot of info in letters about what is going on, just how much he misses us and is ready for the 19th! I sent him that N4M questionnaire and hoping he returns it, really cute idea. Hope you are doing well and can't wait to meet you in person soon:) I'm dying to find out what his buddies names are?!?!
