    Thanks so much. We are actually driving him down to MEPS. His chief approved it for us. And we are staying in the same hotel as him. I can't believe it only 5 days away. My daughter who is 8 and the middle child is having a really hard time with his leaving. My 4 yr old, who's a boy does not quit understand yet. Been running around all day today getting stuff ready for his going away party. What a crazy feeing, huh? Did your son act a little distant right before he left?

    Totally helps, thank you. We are bring our 8 yr old and our 4 yr old with us. The 4 yr old is a little bit of a challenge. Guess i need to bring ipads or something to keep him busy, ugh! And my husband was gonna go to work afterward, thats not gonna happen. Sounds like its a bunch of, "Hurry up and wait".

    Since your SR will go to "A" School for Ships Serviceman (SH), you may also want to join, or at least check out, SH (Ship's Serviceman) Moms and Others (it's a new group and not very active) and Meridian Mississippi A School family&friends. You will also want to check out NAS Meridian Facebook Page and NTTC Meridian Facebook Page. “A” School is about 4 to 5 weeks after the Sailor classes up. The Rating Information Card for SH can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/sh.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
