You are very welcome. The Page, What does ??? mean?  (A Guide to Navy Abbreviations and Terminology), will help with the new lingo. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Spider's Mom, it is bittersweet.  I know you are missing your SR.  Have you joined the PIR group?

  • Spidersmom

For PERSEC reasons, my location on here is not where I currently live although I have lived there in the past. See OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile). You still need to make change number 2 in that link.

Master at Arms is a rating very dear to my heart since my Sailor is an MA. Join San Antonio MA's; the discussion, Break down week by week, will let you know what happens at NTTC Lackland (San Antonio). You will also want to join MAA Moms. Other groups to check out are New MAA Mom's (it has not been very active, but is picking up lately) and Security Sailors (it is not as active and includes loved ones of Sailors from other ratings as well). The Rating Information Card for MA can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ma.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Do you think using my iPhone has anything to so with it?

Hello my new friend!  As you know from the 10/25 PIR page, my daughter is in your daughter's division.  It's so nice to know other moms are going through this separation-from-my-baby-girl thing!  She will also go to San Antonio, as an HM.  FYI, if no one replied to your comment about abbreviations, there is a very useful link here on N4Ms which will give you the whole breakdown.  So looking forward to getting to know each other!  I am trying to set up a facebook page for our division, but someone told me they couldn't view it, so it is a work in progress...stay tuned!  Getting help from my Division 934 parents.  My son PIRd in July and is San Antonio as well.  They will get to be together for about a month before he leaves there.

Welcome to NavyforMoms.com.  My name is Ronny and my son has been in the Navy since February of 2012.  He is currently stationed in San Diego with a Helicopter Squadron.  He is an Aviation Structural Mechanic.  I hope you find all the info you are looking for here, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.  My son is 3rd Generation Navy, so I do know a little about the Navy..:)

If you have a new Sailor who is in Boot Camp, or leaving soon, visit CallsforRecruits.org and I will send you FREE Pre-Paid Phone cards for your SR to use while they are in boot camp.  I started that program when my son left for Boot Camp :)
Be sure and check out the Survival Guide for Newbies…It has some valuable info you would like to know :) It can be found here: http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/survival-guide-for-navy-for...

Welcome Aboard and I wish your Sailor Fair Winds and Following Seas.
