My boyfriend is in bootcamp now and should be home in a couple of weeks. My son is now 4 months old and he may not have a father who he would call "daddy" someday, but my sailor might be able to change that. Ive been very strong about him and his decision, but I wont say it hasnt been hard without him here with me.♥

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Needed to learn more about it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Being strong is hard but helps tremendously. Stay proud and encouraging
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
Currently the new Sailors have a week in holding before classing up, but it has been 2 weeks not too long ago. "A" school is 7 weeks after classing up. He most likely would be eligible to take leave for part of the holiday Stand-down around Christmas and the New Year (not the whole time though and not usually both holidays), but then he would not be able to take Leave between "A" School and his first duty station, but his graduation will be in January. If he classed up the Monday after arrival, graduation would be in December and he would be home for Christmas.
She is leaving Saturday for A school in Mississippi. Her sisters and I are driving up from NC with two 2 year olds in the car. Should be an interesting drive.

Master at Arms is a rating very dear to my heart since my Sailor is an MA. Join San Antonio MA's; the discussion, Break down week by week, will let you know what happens at NTTC Lackland (San Antonio). You will also want to join MAA Moms. Other groups to check out are New MAA Mom's (it has not been very active, but is picking up lately) and Security Sailors (it is not as active and includes loved ones of Sailors from other ratings as well). The Rating Information Card for MA can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ma.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC, and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
