Join AECF - FCs and ETs; your future Sailor will discover his rating while in BC, usually near the end of BC. "A" School is in GL, so you will also want to join Great Lakes A School Q&A and GL A-school moms. You can also check out the Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes Facebook Page. The Rating Information Card for AECF can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/aecf.pdf. The Rating Information Card for Electronics Technician (ET) can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/et.pdf and the one for Fire Controlman (FC) can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/fc.pdf.
