It would be nice to have a direct connection with another family!  Once we get more info, we should share stories.  I am stressing over PIR since there are 5 in the immediate family and we are told we only get 4 tickets!  It is so hard to know someone can't attend.  We unfortunately had to choose the 11 year old since he would be bored to tears during the ceremony.  I'm just not sure how to handle the weekend.  We would hate to leave him behind with someone since they wouldn't get to see each other again for quite a while.  What do we do?  Lock him in the hotel and stress safety?  UGH!  I left it in Gods hands, but am still human and stressing!!

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. What is your SR's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

    erick0808,

I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!  I'm glad you found us. So your daughter is in boot camp now? Come join the chat in our group - there is usually someone on every day. We are a friendly, caring group of moms who have daughters in all stages of Navy life - from newbies to those whose daughters have been in for several years - from officer to enlisted!!! We support all our sailor girls and each other as well. Not just during the bootcamp days but the weeks and months following, as they go off to school, first duty station, or first deployment.  Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!!  We look forward to getting to know you and your sailor!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!
