I couldn't agree more. It has been hard, but now I have been meeting other mom's that have son's in the same division and I feel a little more connected. I can't wait for that first real phone call or letter. But as I have seen on here before no news is good news. I wonder if our kids know each other.
Shannon, I'm so sorry I confused you with that post. Your PIR form is CORRECT. What I was trying to point out that some who got to RTC on 2/18 got put into push divisions, 141/142 with a PIR 4/11 OTHERS that also arrived on 2/18 are being put in DIV 143/144 with a PIR of 2/18. Same report date to RTC but different PIR dates. My son in ship 11 DIV 141, he got a push division PIR 4/11 not what I expected of a PIR 4/18.
I see you have joined your PIR group; I also invite you to joinBoot Camp Moms (and loved ones)and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
Make changes 3 and 4 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
As far as how this site works I am in the dark also. I depend on my kids to help me out with this stuff, and the one that helped me the most is not able to now. I hope that they are making friends for support getting through this. My son was pretty prepared to get yelled at and knows that this is just a short time in the whole span of his life. I am sure that actually going through it is a different experience altogether no matter how much you think you are prepared. I am not sure if we can say our son's names or not. I have not seen anyone doing such things. I suppose if we send a message that was private that would be ok.

Since your SR has a contract for Hospital Corpsman (HM), sometime between now and the end of BC, join HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio and check out Basic Medical Technician Corpsman Program Facebook Page. The Rating Information Card for HM can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/hm.pdf; it indicates 19 weeks, but "A" School is 14 weeks after classing up. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
