Welcome toBoot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you.Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR.What is your SR's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
thank you for sharing your experience on the first phone call and bootcamp. Your a strong and good person. I probably would throttle my son if I wasn't his first point of contact but I commend you for handling it and accepting it as well as you have. As a mom it's hard to take a back seat at times. I soooooooo do not look forward to that day but I know it's in my near future and will have to manage to deal with it rather than cause any friction or push him away. Thank you for reassuring me he will be fine and how hard bootcamp is but to continue to be strong for him. I truly appreciate it. So no internet on the ships? Yikes how long are they at sea for at a time?

If you know your SR's PIR date, go to http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that. If you don't know the PIR date, join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in November, to connect with others with loved ones who left the same day and may have PIR together. I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.

Make change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
